A question for the forum regarding ideology, not dollars as regards the Presidential election. I'm curious as to whether I am the only one who feels this forum has been hijacked the past few weeks by a few posters with a monetary and political agenda faavoring John F Carrie for president.

I have made a few offhand remarks regarding concession speeches but it seems that there is no accountability once the results aare in. Many Kerry backers have had a lot to say during the days leading up to the election. Some of the comments have been somewhat harsh.

Maybe some good can come from this: I congratulate anyone who genuinely made an effort to get involved in the political process with the intention of making a difference.

Those whose agenda involved only monetary profit, I hope you took advantage of the ample scalp opportunities.

Frankly, there are a few posters who gave the impression of placing their wager positions ahead of the interests of our country (USA). If you are a person who did this, hopefully you bought back well enough to profit.

Best wishes to all!

I also thought that the Board was hijacked and that we were barraged with silly threads for weeks. (Remember the one about the bulge in Bush's jacket?) The whole campaign was an obvious attempt to move betting lines. Hopefully, not too many posters lost money by acting on this bunk.

Anyway, I stopped visiting the site about three weeks ago and have returned now since the election is over.

Vinny,

I know this sounds crazy to some, but I felt a genuine "loss" and "ache" inside of me when Kerry lost the election. For me personally, it was MUCH MORE about who I felt would better serve our country and never before, have I been so involved in an election...

Although I wagered on the outcome, the pain I felt was much more intense than I could have imagined, so I took the day off yesterday to heal...

Now that it is over, let's move on. Congratulations to those who supported Bush....

Shrink,

Try supporting a party which receives less than 1% of the votes. Much more painful and frustrating I can assure you :toothless

Kenny,

Fair enough. Let's all hope and pray (if one is so inclined) that some common ground will surface that allows for the resolution of some, if not all, of the conflicts around the globe.

I feel I might be guilty of this. I'd like to apologize to anyone I offended or just anyone who thought I sounded like an idiot.

but this is why a hotly contested football game is only 3 hours and not an affair lasting months.

I'd also like to thank everyone, I learned a lot more about politics than I bargained for. this includes supporters of all sides.

It's over I can go back to sports, gambling and chics now :)

Bush and Kerry made nice speeches, but Bush said similar stuff about re-uniting a divided America after the 2000 appointment.

Maybe he'll keep his word this time around and knock of the extreme Christian crusade, but I have little hopes for such. I think we can "look forward" to 4 more years of poor policy and spiteful Dem "obstruction"

These issues seem a bit tough for anyone to "come to common ground on" -- and really, what is Bush's motivation for comprimise?

Does anyone here REALLY see a non-obstructionist Dem minority and a magically new-formed comprimising Bush administration??

On the good side, we're almost too bankrupt to keep on invading muslim countries that had nothing to do with 9/11.
