NY Mets -114 (3 units)...would be a 4 unit play if this wasn't Benson's first start.
2 mysteries here, Padilla's ERA is gradually going up each season the past few years, and Mr. Potential Kris Benson makes his debut for the Mets. He actually was pretty good for NYM after the trade. Benson seems to be healthy for now, he'll be limited to 80 pitches today. Phils have lost Thome and possibly Lofton to injuries, while Mets get Cameron and Benson back. Phils weren't hitting at full strength, what kind of pitches will Burrell see now??
Cleveland +102 (2 units)..Gonna ride with CC (1.59 era) at about even odds vs. a guy who the Indians have hit a little in recent history. Would be huge for the Indians to sweep the Twins, and they put their Ace on the mound to attempt it. Sabathia beat Minny 2-1 earlier this season. If Clev can learn to win consistantly on the road (8-7 away, only 3-8 at home), they could pose some headaches for the rest of the division. Figure they'll improve on their poor start at home.
Arizona -1 1/2 (+137) (2 units)...Zona is one of the best home teams in baseball, also one of the best hitting at home. They'll hit Williams, don't think Pirates can keep up with their lineup. Estes is usually solid when he's not facing a lineup full of big bats. Nice couple wins for Pitt at Houston, could be a hangover from facing Clemens, now facing totally opposite pitcher. Zona comes off 2 nice wins vs. SF, and have now caught the Dodgers. No time to let up now.
