Major 2nd half fade for me. Sorry VD. I think I can get some nice prices and he is simply not good enough to keep this up. Not saying he isn't alot better than I expected but I have a feeling the value will definitely be against him in the 2nd half.

What do you consider a second half fade...the kid is battling for Cy Young...how good does he have to be to convince you that he is a stud?

He's had a great first half but there are tons of guys who have done that and then went to crap in the second half. It's not like it's a new phenomenon.

This is the same guy who had an ERA of 7.13 in almost 40 innings of A ball last year. Then a 3.55 ERA in 58.1 of AA ball.

I just don't think he's advanced that far and once teams start to see him more, that ERA is only going to rise.

He's obviously very talented but nowhere along the line did I see anything that indicated this type of success. He'll be a good one, but has no business being this good. It's just a fade based on the perceived regress to the mean that I think he'll encounter.

Not saying he's garbage or anything...

PS to Viejo, Cueto is lowering his ERA and pitching better. I still will stick with my preseason scouting report that Cueto has the better ERA and WHIP when all is said and done.

Their WHIPs right now are pretty freaking close. Cueto has not gotten any luck though.

Cueto has 9 losses and an ERA at almost 5.00...(4.67) Whip 1.24 to 1.34.....Cliff Lee is better than Cueto...

Cueto started out rough. He's improving every start. At one point his WHIP was like .75 and his ERA was 6.00 or something like that. He just got a ton of bad luck at the start. He was barely letting anyone get on base but they were almost all scoring. It was a weird statistical anomaly.

Thanks to Dusty Baker...he has ruined that team...

You still are way ahead in the Volquez/Cueto battle. Dusty is throwing Cueto out there for 120+ pitches some games. Probably gonna be more ruined arms soon.
