I have made a lot of money in the past by betting the dog in traditional rivalry games. Esspecially home dogs. This game should be played at the end of the season like most others. It would even be better if they played it in Arrowhead.
Most people in the country won't be paying much attention to this game as both teams have been off the radar sceen for years, but this is a BIG game for both teams. The rivalry goes back 100 years, and started in the 1860s. Alabama/Auburn, Harvard/Yale, Ohio St/Michigan, at least these teams were on the same side in the Civil War. More importantly, KU cost MU a national championship (with illegal players) in 1960 and because of the basketball rivalry, they just don't like each other. Kansas City is really buzzing about this game and it should be a sell out in Larwrence. 50,000 fans thanks to 10 to 15 thousand Mizzou fans making the trip across the state line.
I believe that Missouri has the better team here. O line, Defense, and coach. I am impressed with how Mangino has brought the Hawks along and you have to respect the KU QB.
These might be two of the top five quarterback in the country.
I believe Missouri will try to run the ball as much as they can and keep the KU offense off the field. They just want to get a win and get out of town. If they don't turn the ball over and manage to put some pressure on Wittemore, they should succeed. But for the bettor, it should be a close game, with KU having a real chance to upset the Tigers.
I will probably lay a small one on the Tigers because I'll be pulling for a blowout, but I'm afraid the smart money has to be on KU +10.
This is a tough spot for Mizzou with Nebraska up next. They are young and as evidenced last week, have been reading their press clippings.
Just wanted to give you all some insight. Bet with care. MIZZOU

I'll be cheering for the Tigers. I used to live within 20 minutes of Columbia and am familiar with the rivalry. Also, I want MU to be undefeated when they come to Norman. I hate to root against Nebraska though because Sooner fans would love to meet up with an old rival in KC. OU & NU have only met once @ a neutral site and that was the Orange bowl. The MU/Ku game should be an interesting duel between the QB's. I think Mizzou outscores em 38-26.

Arbuckle,
thanks for the support. I'll have to live with these sorry Hawkers until basketball season if we don't post a W. Brad Smith is THE MAN. I think, I hope, he makes the difference.

Honestly, I wouldn't touch this game. Don't like betting the grudge matches. Especially the ones that date back over 100 years and involve rape and the burning of a town. Don't bet it, there's no reason to. Both these coaches are on the rise. ONly bet a rivalry where one coach is pitiful and can't win the big game i.e. Mack Brown. Other than that enjoy the game

To hell with being smart. The word from Columbia, MUs defense has had three great practices. I'm going with the Tigers in a very satisfying cover. We are going to run the ball down their throat and burn their town down again. MIZ...ZOU!!!
