early college picks plus asking for advise on vandy/wake

Had a tuff college day last saturday going 1-6 but picked up a few units in the nfl so not all disasterous, anyways heres my early picks so far

navy+3(1 unit)
navy has better ypc on O and D, and better pass rating vs. simlilar schedule
plus I just think navy's attack will score here, and they faired a little better @ ball st.

mississippi -13.5 (1 unit)
okstate +8(1 unit)its a homer game for me
lsu -5 (1 unit) They have the talent and I believe they really need this game


Looking at this wake/vandy game with wake -4 at home, does someone have anything on this game, call me nuts but I think wake should win by atleast 7, but I am no pro at this yet, any thoughts welcome

Also note, my units are 20$ and I went 1-6 last so maybe fade them, although thats only the 2nd time this season that has happened

I'm with you okstate. After watching Vandy play Tennessee last week I couldn't imagine them even playing a close game at Wake. I have never watched a more pitiful SEC football game and expect Wake to dominate the Commodores. I am an Ole Miss fan and have watched both teams beat the rebels this year. Vandy was a fluke. This may be my best bet for the weekend. Hit them hard.

Also be careful wagering on Ole Miss. Although Mississippi St. is nothing special, the rivalry between the two teams is very heated and I expect a close game. Snead has never played against MS St. and will be surprised at how intense the game is.

If that Navy spread were even a little higher I think I'd like the Midshipmen. But talent against talent I think Northern Illinois is at least 3 points better.

I like betting Navy as an underdog, but this game is in no-play territory for me.

I'm eyeing the Ole Miss play pretty seriously myself.

Ole Miss has made me some serious money this year. And I think this MSU game is maybe bigger than people think. A good finish by Ole Miss probably puts them in a good bowl game..And an impressive win here could possibly put them in the Cotton Bowl.

I am from Oxford, MS and have been to my fair share of Egg Bowls (the title of the Ole Miss/MS St. game) in my life. I have seen very good Ole Miss teams lose big in this game solely b/c the rivalry aspect of it. People underestimate just how intense this game is. I expect the Rebels to win, but at -13 I don't think I will be betting on the game. Today in the Clarion Ledger, which is the Jackson Newspaper, there was an article about Sylvester Croom's future as head coach at State. Basically a loss here and he is done. Coming off a victory on the road at Arkansas last week I expect the Bulldogs to be playing with confidence. The over/under should be in the mid-40's, and if it is I am going to hit the over very hard. Otherwise steer clear of this game. Trust me.

To comment on the ole miss game, I was watching the lsu game last week and told myself if the line came -14 or better this week I was hitting it and I did, Just think they have to much for st. to stay in it


Also have a question for you veterans? This is my 1st year and its been pretty decent to me, nothing spectaluar, but anyways I am having a hard time finding value in these games now and I read others are aswell, My question--

Will there be lots of value on the bowls?

Bg avgs 26.7 ppg and gives up 24.4 ppg while
Toledo avgs 23.5 ppg and gives up 30.8

a little weary of toledos rushing numbers, but BG has a passing rating of 136.26 while toledos passing D rating is 141.17

I would advise extreme caution in betting on this Wake Forest team to cover any spread. They have some serious offensive deficiencies; last week there lone offensive touchdown was on a drive that was a yard long.

I am afraid of that this Wake team will mail this game in. Grobe is a good coach but he did not do a good job with this senior-laden roster this year as they struggled on offense all year. I don't know alot about Vandy, u guys seem to think they suck. I am just saying that Wake is not a good team this year and they are ending the season on a very low note. 4 seems like a pretty tight line...

thx for input, I already put it in as my play biggest play so far-
the #s are fairly similar, but wake really needs this win at home for a bowl game, vandys starting rb is also sitting out his game , qbs are sporadic and that wake D is pretty good imo

Wake is wishy washy to me, but they are at home to a Vandy team that RARELY knows what the endzone is like. I personally like the -4 for Wake, but what is the O/U on this game. Should be less than 40 I'm sure.

Personally, not sure how the LSU/Arkansas game will go. LSU has mailed it in if you ask me. They barely beat Troy and were trounced last week by Ole Miss.

For the Mississippi rivalry, 14 is quite a bit but State is on the road
which gives Miss an advantage. Still a tough one to go with. Lean for Miss right now
