E-Gold page appears to be down.

Nothing on Pinnacle's banking pg that says they accept e-gold. This option tho really looks good...But how long has their site been down? Or is it just me?

Can US citizens use thier credit cards to fund Web Money or moneybookers and then depossit into sportsbooks?

Sorry zone, my mistake.

Pinnacle does except e-gold indirectly, in that you can deposit e-gold into moneybookers then into Pinnacle.

Site is up now ...

I've used e-gold for over five years and am a big advocate of their service. I've had the pleasure of meeting most of the principals in person and they are all exactly the sort of people of which the finance industry needs about a million percent more -- honest, open in business practices but fiercely protective of privacy, knowledgable of the law and economics that pertain to running a functional financial services company.

Given e-gold's more than seven years in business, $ 20 million plus in deposits, non-repudiable transactions (no chargebacks!) and much less expensive operating expenses for merchants compared to credit cards and most other forms of payment processing, it is suprising that more books do not pick it up.

Vague reference that I don't get ... I don't have an apartment ...

For whatever relevance it has to the thread, I have met various principals from e-gold in attendance of the 2001 New Orleans Investment Conference, at the offices of e-gold's domestic unit OmniPay in Melbourne, FL, and in an informal setting at Matt's Tropical Grill in Indian Harbour, Florida (a great frickin place btw in case you're ever in east central FL.)

Why on earth do you ask?

We've added e-gold to our DoughFlow product as it was requested by one of our merchants. So far not many of our merchants are using e-gold, but I think it will become popular as it is extremely cost-effective for transfers.

The account setup was a breeze. And technical integration into our product was straightforward. I was impressed with their multiple layers of security - something that is lacking with many other payment sites.

On the downside, I found it a bit difficult/confusing to get my e-gold account funded. There are numerous market makers to choose from but so many with different funding methods and fee structures that it creates confusion on who you should go with.

Hope that helps,

e-gold's market maker system provides for a true free market currency, as competition in the field has reduced in-exchange premiums drastically over the years without effecting the e-gold cost structure. I highly recommend GoldAge. Many others are listed and ranked at Gold Pages, the largest online directory of merchants accepting e-gold (over 1,200) and other digital currencies.
