Dutch intel: US to strike Iran in coming weeks

The Dutch intelligence service, the AIVD, has called off an operation aimed at infiltrating and sabotaging Iran's weapons industry due to an assessment that a US attack on the Islamic Republic's nuclear program is imminent, according to a report in the country's De Telegraaf newspaper on Friday.

The report claimed that the Dutch operation had been "extremely successful," and had been stopped because the US military was planning to hit targets that were "connected with the Dutch espionage action."

The impending air-strike on Iran was to be carried out by unmanned aircraft "within weeks," the report claimed, quoting "well placed" sources.

The Jerusalem Post could not confirm the De Telegraaf report.

According to the report, information gleaned from the AIVD's operation in Iran has provided several of the targets that are to be attacked in the strike, including "parts for missiles and launching equipment."

"Information from the AIVD operation has been shared in recent years with the CIA," the report said.

On Saturday, Iran's Deputy Chief of Staff General Masoud Jazayeri warned that should the United States or Israel attack Iran, it would be the start of another World War.

On Friday, Ma'ariv reported that Israel had made a strategic decision to deny Iran military nuclear capability and would not hesitate "to take whatever means necessary" to prevent Teheran from achieving its nuclear goals.

According to the report, whether the United States and Western countries succeed in thwarting the Islamic Republic's nuclear ambitions diplomatically, through sanctions, or whether a US strike on Iran is eventually decided upon, Jerusalem has begun preparing for a separate, independent military strike.

Might as well do it now in case Obama gets in, because Iran will go nuclear if Obama is president.

The looming possibility of an Obama presidency will force Israel and/or the US into attacking Iran before 2009.

Joe Biden Announces The Appeasement Platform Of The Democrats

From Haaretz, Israel's leading newspaper comes word that Slow Joe Biden has previewed the Obama foreign policy to a stunned Israeli military:

Democratic vice-presidential candidate Joe Biden was quoted Monday as telling senior Israeli officials behind closed doors that the Jewish state will have to reconcile itself to a nuclear Iran.

In the unsourced report, Army Radio also quoted Biden as saying that he opposed "opening a additional military and diplomatic front."

Biden, chairman of the powerful Senate Foreign Relations Committee, has long been considered strongly pro-Israel. His nomination as Barack Obama's running mate had been expected to shore up the Democrats' strength with U.S. Jewish voters.

Army Radio said Israeli officials expressed "amazement" over the remarks attributed to him.

"Israel will have to reconcile itself with the nuclearization of Iran," Army Radio quoted Biden as telling the unnamed officials.

"It's doubtful if the economic sanctions will be effective, and I am against opening an additional military and diplomatic front."

It is a good thing that Slow Joe Biden has enough experience to throw in the towel over a nuclear Iran.

American supporters of Israel have to understand that Obama-Biden is a disaster for Israel's security. It would be Carter II, but without the keen insight that Carter brought to Iran policy.

Iran going nuclear is the most important issue in the election. And is the #1 reason why a vote for Obama here isn't just dumb, but also possibly suicide. Terrorists will get nukes if Iran gets nukes. Thankfully Israel will bomb them without U.S. approval, and that may buy a few years. Obama is a tool to think that diplomacy will achieve a damn thing with Iran. He is all talk and has no balls.

You're wrong on the second point because we already gave Israel 500 bunker busters shortly before the 2006 midterm elections. Of course Iranians will blame us. Let them. We'll bomb them more on the second run and possibly eventually resort to nukes on the third destroying the Jihadist threat once and for all.

Whatever is left of Islam scattered and glowing across the middle east, can then witness what happens to those evil movements who dare to threaten or attack western freedom and our way of life.

As a special bonus, the UN will find itself in the same dustbin of history as the League of Nations did after WW I.

Just because Israel hasn't done it already, doesn't mean it won't happen. They are shrewed and efficient. They will pressure us americans into doing it for them, and they will use themselves as a last resort.

You know, Persian people actually do like americans. If you went to tehran and didn't talk to the politicans, you would see a lot of positive american energy. It is their politicans fighting with our politicans that might turn us all against each other. It is what sickens me about governments.

I am not sure 1 is correct. We might do the job because we can do it best. We don't want any Fuck ups. I hope to god we let Israel do it on their own.

2. Iran retaliates and we support Israel. We now control the country right next to Iran, right smack dab in the middle of the middle east.

3. It might not play out exactly like that. What happens if the UK, Germany, France and other support us and Russia turns off their oil.natural gas piplelines... pressure builds up and eventually we have a global conflict.

Iran will continue to pursue nukes, somebody will bomb them... us, or Israel.

Oh, but Hussein Obama said Iran isn't a threat. He should have been disquailifed from running right then. That was the dumbest thing any major candidate ever said. It was worse than his 56 states comment. We have a freaking rookie jackass running for pres, and it doesn't scare anybody. Iran could lead us to WW3 and they aren't a threat?
