I still think he's the best three year old in the country. Completely throw out his derby run he broke bad and had a bad trip. I think this horse is extremely dangerous if he runs. Will be a decent price too.

Fire probably doesn't like to run long. And when i said dunkirk is the best three year old i meant to say three year old colt. Cause the best three year old is rachel.

Dunkirk is far from hype. He's bred like a champion ran a great second in the florida derby in only his third start. Charitable man is another major contender. The belmont is a whole different monster. I think we'll see some out of the mix horses running well. But dunkirk is not hype. He's legit. He's just inexperienced.

I agree ! Dunkirk is loaded with talent. I keyed him in all my derby plays and when the gate opened i knew i was in trouble. The way he stumbled at the gate wasnt the normal stumble and keep going,, he went to his knees and i had a feeling he grabbed a quarter and Pletcher said he did , but he has healed great and i will be betting him for sure in the belmont !

word is he lost around 50 pounds since the FL Derby had a horrible trip to Kentucky and washed out schooling in the paddock the day before the derby hardly good signs for a horse ready to run in the biggest race of his life

You don't think his workout today was impressive?

That wasn't what I was implying. I was giving a possible reason for his poor Derby showing.

thats kinda what im saying...you expect much more then running a good second in the fla derby with the amount of talk this horse has gotten. remember he was heavy chalk in the fla derby and he had to win to get the earnings needed for the derby. i think the only reason he was able too enter was due to multiple horses exiting due to injury. hes a good lookin horse...bred well....good connections...nice workouts.....but i dont think he was the heart of an elite racehorse.

He ran a Thorograph 0 in his 2nd career start followed by another 0 in the Florida Derby where he ran into a very nice horse.
I don't understand how that is hype. The horse has demonstrated ability and is legitimately fast.

Here is his trouble line from the KY Derby

stumbled, steadied early, bumped 5/16

what exactly do you want from this horse?

i wanna see him deal with adversity and not fold like a cheap suit. the derby is a glorified stampede. all the horses are gonna get bumped, crowded and have to deal with traffic. imo good horses deal with this and run anyway....other horses seem to find trouble and find excuses. i think hes one of them.....Friesan Fire is in the same boat. maybe he wins the belmont....who knows...i think things would have to setup perfect and he would have to have a perfect trip. to many what if's for me and ill be looking elsewhere.
