I still think he's the best three year old in the country. Completely throw out his derby run he broke bad and had a bad trip. I think this horse is extremely dangerous if he runs. Will be a decent price too.
I agree ! Dunkirk is loaded with talent. I keyed him in all my derby plays and when the gate opened i knew i was in trouble. The way he stumbled at the gate wasnt the normal stumble and keep going,, he went to his knees and i had a feeling he grabbed a quarter and Pletcher said he did , but he has healed great and i will be betting him for sure in the belmont !I still think he's the best three year old in the country. Completely throw out his derby run he broke bad and had a bad trip. I think this horse is extremely dangerous if he runs. Will be a decent price too.
Dunkirk is far from hype. He's bred like a champion ran a great second in the florida derby in only his third start. Charitable man is another major contender. The belmont is a whole different monster. I think we'll see some out of the mix horses running well. But dunkirk is not hype. He's legit. He's just inexperienced.
He ran a Thorograph 0 in his 2nd career start followed by another 0 in the Florida Derby where he ran into a very nice horse.
I don't understand how that is hype. The horse has demonstrated ability and is legitimately fast.
Here is his trouble line from the KY Derby
stumbled, steadied early, bumped 5/16
what exactly do you want from this horse?
