I am sure most here wish they had more money. I think most feel that way in some way but was the dumbest thing financially you have did?
Mine has to be with these 2 rentals I bought. I am sure it could be worse but both have been late on month 2 with their rents. One bounced a check and swore up and down that she had swithced checking accounts so this is why this happened. The other (who is a physician's assisitant) said she simply forgot on Septemebr 6th and would send it out and I still havent recieved it. Now I call and she dont answer.
The 2nd one baffles me. You would think she is a classy indiviaul. She is a borderline doctor and makes 90k a year. I did thorough background checks on both. I get the rent to maybe breakeven on the properties. The postitive cashflow is really a joke.
Now dont get me wrong I 100% believe in the real estate game but my point is for the investment headaches and risks I can do alot better than this. If I had to redo it all over again it probaly isnt worth it. Just a simple thing like getting rents from someone shouldn't be this difficult. You wait on 1k to make $50 or so a month. The excuses combined with the minor things (needs a new door handle, dishwasher broke, lost key, etc...) just isnt worth it. Give me back my x amount of money I spent on this and I will find something else to do with my money.
