Calhoun full court presses with 8 seconds left after just tieing the game allows Umass do go straight done the court and score. They go to OT and Umass prolly has nothing left after blowing the lead late.

I knew it right away.
As soon as I saw them trying for a steal I shook my head.

Although UCONN had a defensive mix up at the end. The pressure is the correct move in that situation. The dumbest thing a coach can do is let a team dribble down the court with no pressure and get a good look. You want to make the offense work to get the ball up court, and not let them get a good look.
Just didn't work this time, But not dumb by calhoun at all.

No way man. Not full court pressure when you just tied the game and have the momentum. Pick up man to man 3 quarters or half court but not full court zone press. That was idiotic.

I disagree.
I agree with the announcer that said the correct move would have been to drop back to halfcourt and play from there....Umass had players WIDE OPEN under the basket....The play spoke for itself....It allowed them to get a running start and UCONN were the ones offguard.

Complete stupidity

Yup I turned the game off before the announcers spoke but they just echoed what I just said. Couldn't agree more.

that wasn't a zone press, they picked up full court man. Just a bone head play not to pick up the guy they hit in the middle. 3/4 court would have been better, but you have to put pressure. I've coached 1000's of basketball games, not saying I'm John Wooden but it was the right move. Just bad defense.

If it wasnt zone then it was atrocious man which leads me back to my origional point. Either way it was not the correct move. But oh well UConn got what they deserved.

the dude from UConn had 2 men going to the basket after he pushed it down with 4.3 secs left, but he decided to be a hero and try to take a 3; when he felt a hand in his face, he had to chuck it to another dude who had no prayer; if he penetrates, they get a layup and it goes OT where Uconn covers and the 2H goes over 74 :suomi:

The correct defense was called. Definitely have to go full court man. The coach was not to blame there. Players played absolutely no defense. No way should you have a 2 on 1 in that situation. Somebody messed up and it wasn't the coach.
How bout the kid from UMASS running and jumping on the chairs over there with time left on the clock. That was priceless. I was probably the only person who had $$ on UCONN but was laughing when the game was over. That was hilarious.
