drugs bans in baseball?

hi all - im only a severe newbie:howdy:and don't know a whole lot about US sport, but im learning all the time. I'm not even sure is this the right forum to ask this on!!!!!!!

but why are guys given 5 or 6 chances to take drugs in basball?

eg athletics soccer rugby and other worldwide sports you get a 2 yr ban minimum and second offence means life.

whats to stop both teams juicing up their gatorade for game 7 of this years world series and then taking a 2 week ban at the spring of 06?

i dont get it?

is baseball still an olympic sport?does it not fall under their drugs umbrella?

It does not fall under any umbrella...however Congress would like baseball to model its drug policy after the Olympic drug policy...right now MLB's drug policy is pretty easy to get around, that is why some players are still chancing it...
