Driving to Las Vegas Update thread...

definitely the best route to take....driving through the mountains sucks and if you are in Utah at night, you can't even tell where you're going...much quicker to take southern route.

Just got here yesterday. All moved into the new house with boxes about all unpacked.

I missed Vegas for the short time I was gone but boy it's freaking hot out.

Take a break when you get to Laughlin, enjoy the heat for 10-15 minutes outside.........this will help you adapt to the heat in Vegas better, as Laughlin is usually 4-9 degrees hotter and more humid.

He said He is on a 14 hour drive ! He'll be way further than Amarillo as He is in
Springfield, Mo now. He's not a lightweight like you, He'll be in Gallup. We stayed at the El Rancho Hotel there where most of the Movie stars stayed in the old days. They have rooms there named after the stars like the John Wayne room, etc. etc. Always a great place to stay and dine although the rooms are ancient of course.

Gallup is about 450 miles from Vegas going through Laughlin which takes probably 6 1/2 to 7 hours depending on traffic. Albuquerque is about 2 hours East of Gallup but pretty much right on the same Highway. I prefer Gallup as it's smaller and pretty cheap lodging etc.
