Your electrolite balance goes to hell if there is too much water, you dilute all the salts that transmit the nervous impulses.......

Then again, you can drink beer like I do :p

urine is clear because you have no vitamins left in you...take a multi vitamin and watch how yellow/green it is.

Urine consists of excess water and waste products that have been filtered from the blood by the kidneys. Its natural yellow color is due to excretion of urochrome, a blood pigment. Depending on the amount of fluids you drink, your urine can range in color from almost clear (diluted) to dark orange (concentrated).

Most changes in urine color are temporary and caused by food colors or medications. However, an abnormal urine color may indicate a serious disease. If you're concerned about the color of your urine, especially if you notice blood in it, consult with your doctor.

Urine color Possible medical and dietary causes
Clear* Excess liquids
Liver disorders, such as acute viral hepatitis or cirrhosis

Bright or neon yellow* Vitamin supplements

Dark yellow or gold* Dehydration

Pink or red* Blood in the urine, such as due to kidney or bladder infection or cancer
Certain foods, such as beets and berries, and food dyes
Some laxatives

Orange* Side effect of certain medications, such as rifampin, doxorubicin (Adriamycin, Rubex), phenazopyridine (Pyridium) and warfarin (Coumadin)
Certain foods and food dyes
Dehydration

Blue or green *Side effect of certain medications, such as amitriptyline and indomethacin (Indocin)
Certain foods, such as asparagus, and food dyes

Dark brown or tea colored* Liver disorders, especially if accompanied by pale stools and jaundice
Side effect of certain medications
Blood in the urine
Certain foods and food dyes

Cloudy or murky urine* Urinary tract infections
Kidney stones

As long as you get enough sodium/potasium thats fine, the problem is, you need to be aware of what you are doing (diluting your body fluids) to compensate

Precisely!

Figure you need AT LEAST 8 oz of pure water for every 800 mg of sodium you consume.

For example, if you consuming 3200 mg of sodium in your diet on day, you better make DAMN sure you have at least 32 ounces of PURE water to flush the excess out...................this is especially important if your prone to hypertension!

A good book to read would be Your Body Cries For Water
Author DR. Battmengelic
He treated a bunch of illness with just water and salt while he was held in prison years ago the key is not to consume caffine because it sucks all the water out of your body. Take a look at some of these people that hang out at coffee shops they cane just barely walk almost like bone on bone. I cured a bunch of illness by just reading this book.

As wise men said MANY years ago, MODERATION is the key!

I have no doubt that drinking 12+ glasses of water can have a negative effect on the body, as only drinking 1-2 glasses would also.

Strive for 3-6 8 oz glasses a day and you should be just fine!

I have been drinking nothing but water, no sodas or anything, for over 10 years. I drink about 2 gallons a day. Is there really something to this? I often feel tired, but just felt that was just me. I have told my doctor that I drink a lot of water and he did not say anything about it.

There were earlier threads about this, 2 gallons seems like a lot , unless you live in desert and are outdoors a lot.

That was one of my friends problem, he felt tired all the time, since he has cutback he now takes his Wife out to eat and goes and visits Relatives and friends, before they never went no where. you are defintely drinking way too much.
