One bet---a simple key.

Thank you, Old Man Ted. In this race I must use
# 4. To beat the fine runner, Curlin, his mile and
a quarter must receive a like ability. If he runs too softly
on this turf the 2,3 and 5 can chalenge him but I
see the 4 with a new jockey as the money horse to
run the needed 'and a quarter' to finish with Curlin. I also
like chances of the odds on #4 going upwards near 20 - 1.
So a $10. TRI for me looks 47/47/all. :103631605 Enjoy the races!

Very good field going in this race today. The morning line favorite Curlin is trying the turf for the first time. Proven high quality marathon runners Better Talk Now and Red Rock should be flying at the finish. Grand Couturier and True Cause might make their presence felt. The pace leaders appear to be Mission Approved and Sudan. Sudan was scratched by Frankel from last week's United Nations Stakes to run in this one instead. In this mile and three eighths, wouldn't expect any fast fractions early and the field to be bunched up well until the quarter pole when the real running starts. Going to take a chance and go for a real price in this one. Hence,

Sudan (Win & Place)

Good luck everyone!

strong concerns on pace scenario, love red rocks and better talk now in this field just think the pace will not benefit them as much as I would have liked, likely that either both will show up with big efforts or neither one.

Russ Harris analysis:

9. Curlin has won 5 major stakes in row, '07 champion looks well spotted trying turf first time. Better Talk Now was rallying strongly when forced to take up near wire in Grade I Manhattan; 9-year-old lacks speed but looms stretch threat. Sudan won Grade I turf stakes for Frankel at Golden Gate, has speed to be threat. Red Rocks finished sixth at Epsom last out, but won '06 Breeders' Cup on firm turf; adds blinkers, switches to Castellano and may better this rating.

Absolute suicide pace set by Mission Approved and Sudan leading to come from behind winner Red Rock, second to Curlin and third to Better Talk Now
