Del Mar presents The Pacific Classic Stakes (Grade I) for 3 year olds and up running 1 & 1/4 miles on the all weather track for a purse of $1,000,000. Currently 12 are entered to start with post time scheduled for 8:10 EDT. This is an open thread with all opinions, thoughts, selections, discussion, whatever very much welcome. Best of luck

There appears to be enough pace in this race to keep the early fractions honest but not too hot. Don't envision any of these being able to go wire to wire in this race. Prefer a close stalker to take command leaving the quarter pole and hold off the late closers. Also, hard to miss a 1:36 workout over this track on 8/30.
