Belmont Park presents The Brooklyn Handicap (Grade II) for 3 year olds and up running 1 & 1/2 miles on the dirt for a purse of $200,000. Going to be very sloppy today, raining now, going to rain all day, heavy at times.

Here's Bossert's take.

Delosvientos may have needed last after stopping badly in return from five-month layoff; clearly the most accomplished runner at this distance. Ea got up to dead heat as the chalk in last after slow start and wide rally. Nite Light ran well to be second best behind runaway winner in last. Rising Moon is 2-for-4 over this strip.

This marathon is loaded with all kinds of question marks. Pace setters likely Delosvientos and Rising Moon but for how far? Most in here are even running types with plodding styles and will likely pass the pacesetters at some point. No real great closers but one of these may jump up with a big effort down the lane. Have a small affinity for the Brazilian shipper as he has at least provided two decent efforts since coming to the states and the last one here at the same distance on a sloppy surface. Neither distance nor the track condition should affect this guy.
