Downloading movies off of torrent sites

I have been downloading a movie for days. There has to be a better and quicker way. I am using a program called Utorrent. It is taking forever. WTF?

What is a better way to do this?

I download movies off of torrent sites too using utorrent... 700MB movies takes no more than 30 minutes to an hour. How many seeders of the movie are there? if there is only a couple seeders, but say 1000 leechers, it's going to take a while, but a movie shouldn't take that long to download. Another thing to check is if you are behind a router/firewall to see if you have the correct ports open. I had to open ports 29018 on mine.

yep, check to see how many seeders there are and make sure that your router or firewall is port forwarded correctly. I once had to wait weeks for a documentary to be downloaded as there was only 1 seeder and they were very intermittent. On the other hand I downloaded Thank You for Smoking last night and it took under an hour for 700 meg.

Perhaps you can find another torrent of the same movie but with more seeders.

I went to a port forwarding tutorial site and forwarded the port. I also closed out the torrent and started a new one. Currently the download speed is much faster than before, it is fluctuating between 5-11 kb/s that still seems slow though. The seeds states: 18 (25) and peers 4 (28). Is that normal?

ok...i jus started downloading..and i already am over 80 kb/s so there is somethign def wrong.

u can however watch this movie online if u want...if that is possible..i found it.

Maybe your ISP is throttling torrent traffic.

load this page twice (two windows/tabs) and click on part 2 in second tab....then click play and when they start click pause...let them load for a good half hour +...(youku is only site that has the vid feed and its semi annoying cuz it takes while to load (can get stuck..also has jap letters at top..not a huge deal))..but good quality movie.

It works pretty good Murph. The Jap subtitles are a little annoying, but manageable.

Ok, someone explain this to me. I am now downloading some software off the same torrent site, and it is downloading at over 400 kb/s. The movie is still crawling at around 5 kb/s.
