Washington didn't need Ohio State to lose. An undefeated Washington is in, period, with the Big 12 the odd man out.

sadly. but the Pac12 just looks so awful this year and UDub so far has played a bunch of bad teams.
Wazzu and USC are the second and third best teams???? yikes
I just cant say much for the Big12 right now either. OU is decent but very flawed right now. Baylor is Nebraska...decent but has played no one. OKSt another good team but not great.

and UDubs OOC schedule was embarrassingly easy (Rutg, Idaho, PortSt) compared to WVa (Mizzou, BYU, YTown). I just dont think WVa makes it thru the conference unscathed.....if they did I'd give them a nod over UDub based on that alone.

still plenty of season to go though so no sense going on and on about it now

Ohio St barely dropped in the polls. They still control their destiny and they will throttle Michigan at the end of the season. Michigan QB play leaves a lot to be desired. I'm not sure how they move the ball consistently against OSU. Still weeks away though.

They dont though TBH. Bama, Clem, WVa/Baylor, Mich/Nebr and Wash control their own destinies. OSU needs to win out (DUH) and have another team lose

Uhm, you're forgetting one........Louisville. I'd see Louisville with one loss getting the nod over OhState, especially if Clemson runs the table.

Exactly. It is still up in the air.

I'm sure the Shoe is a tough venue to play in, but let me ask the forum something.......What team has the best D by far in the Nation? Guess what, it ain't OhState, but they do have the ugliest helmets on the planet, LOL.

thought about it but let's face it...if tOSU wins out...goes to big10 champ and wins it...they are getting in over a 1-loss LV team who didnt go to the conf champ b/c of an undefeated Clemson team. So many things are going to change here though. SHould make for a very exciting final 6 weeks

I hear ya SDF, but let's think about this......Louisville losing a really close game in Death Valley, and OhState losing at Happy Valley. Man, I got nothing but love for Franklin, he brought my Alma to a new level and deserves any kudos he gets, but really, losing to Penn State??? Wow, there'd have to be some drunk folks at that Committee meeting selecting the four.

Def can't disagree since tOSU will beat 2 top 10 teams if they do win out and a rematch with either Nebraska or Northwestern probably, but like someone said they still need PSU to lose too. Louisville has no ranked teams left unless Houston somehow gets back in top 25. I don't know if that Bichigan game is really going to be that easy if Ohio State can't figure out their Offense. Hell even Nebraska will be tough if that's the case.

tOSU made it to the final 4 two years ago and they lost at home to VT that year. the wonks will put the Buckeyes in over any other 1-loss team not named Alabama.
they also (unfortunately) feel going to and winning your conf. championship has more weight.
also if Mich loses to tSOU by a close score, those same wonks would put in Mich over LV just based on ..... MICHIGAN!

and this is why we need an 8 team playoff. we dont penalize anyone for having 2 or even 3 good teams in one conference and we'll get more teams willing to schedule tough OOC games so they wont get scared of losing a game (see Washington and Baylor this year)

but i digress. IMO, LV is deserving of a playoff spot, but they need lots of help to get there with only 4 open spots.

The (4) team playoff format was bound to fail for reasons which are now obvious; The 8 team format was nixed to protect the integrity of the (4) major Bowl
games (mediocre teams in the Rose, Sugar, Orange, Outback/Citrus)....no way could the NCAA allow this to happen......sad.
