Don't you all find it real odd that these attacks are only happening to guys in Costa Rica and Curacao. Have you heard of any attacks on the likes of William Hill,Ladbrokes. The answer to that is no because they know those guys would go after there ass and find out who they are. So go after the island guys and who the hell are they going to call the FBI LMAO... It just makes me think there is another book in one of these locations pulling this shit. thoughts? Comments?

No idea, but if nothing else these hackers have gave others an idea and even if these were caught their will be more in the future. Books just have to set up the best defense possible and hope for the best. As technology advances, so will these type of problems.

cj99 - Yeah there is some talk going around.
I think looking at what books use or have used programers from Russia might be a clue. But then again this Russia connection may be a decoy.

What books benefit when another gets a DoS attack? I would think books that have the same customers as the one being attacked but then you can say that for many books, so WTF?

Well Intuition. Let's say it is another book doing some of these attacks.. Maybe they do have the same clients as the book being attacked. Why would that matter? Well if you where a book owner wouldn't you want them playing with you and creating volume for you instead of the other guy... The only reason I bring this up is these hackers seem to know just right when to attack.

Any one think that the weak law inforcement in these countries might have anything to do with this.

If a US based company was DOSed in the same way the FBI would quickly get the provider to put the required filtering in place. I have a feeling a Curacao (or Costa Rica) based sports book would actually have a hard time getting someone in the NOC of a major US provider interested in their problems.

BTW, WWTS is not in Curacao. Isn't it in Antigua.

cj99 - I agree with what you are saying and you may be right.

But besides C.R. and Curacao haven't they attacked BetPanAm several times? And they are in panama.Did Oly and/or Betjm get attacked?
Some of these books like the ones above wil NEVER pay so they are just wasting their time.....which leads us back to your point that maybe it's a book that doesn't really care about getting the ransom money as much as blocking access so the book behind these attacks gets more bets for the weekend as the players are blocked from batting at the book being attacked.

Things that make you go Hmmm...
