But they have saved a lot of money, haven't had to pay for World Series tickets or many playoff tickets so they can afford it.

Cubs fans have no clue. I've been to wrigley and they understand nothing about baseball. It's not Boston or St. Louis fans for sure.

I'm sorry? Whaaaaaa ? Cubbies who? Lost all your money and fans . Oh but wait wait. Lebron came back why? Everyone comes back to Ohio. You are all witnesses, and our beers aren't $$250 . Is against the world. Come to the 2nd parade of the year on Thursday.

All those bar owners mopped up the tears off the floor and are opening their doors again today. Welcome back suckers. They are offering free tissues tonight.

I think it's a lot but what's $250 for a person living in Wrigleyville? Good chance they are making $100k +.

Pay $250 to be in an over crowded bar. Nah. Capitalize? Lol sell outs. Doubt Boston does that for all their championships. Blackhawks win rings all the time in Chicago, act like you've been there before. Its not a fight they have to pay for and order. Its on fucking fox. It's a jinx to charge people that much to watch something on TV. I bet tonight that price will drop in half. Now its gonna be $125 max everywhere. $150 max maybe.

But the Cubs haven't been there in a very long time. I bet a lot of the people who thinks it's a bad deal would have no problem paying insane covers and bottle service in Vegas.

I hear ya. I think drinking is for losers anyway. Plus if the city has championship experience, which they do, I don't care what the sport is that aint value. They sell you the.....memory of a lifetime bs....only in baseball. Its for some reason all about the memory in baseball. Nobody is going to pay $250 a head to go see the Blackhawks win a ring or if the bulls were to go up 3-0vs Lebron in a playoff series......still no one. Only baseball.

Free tissues for 250.... that is reasonable.

What a memory to have. You paid 250 to get in plus the cost of food and beverages. One expensive night and the Cubs get shut out.. you and the Cubs were losers last night.

100 is more reasonable. But, to pay 250+ for a memorable evening is ridiculous to me. I suppose that Is why most people are in debt as they want to live the lifestyle. All to you if you can afford it. I could but I would never pay out that kind of money on a regular basis for a reasonable night out. I suppose this situation is different as the Cubs have been waiting for this a long time, but just to get in 250.. I'd pay the extra to at least get the seat to sit on so why memories aren't behind some bars.

Nobody said they spend thus on a regular basis for a reasonable night. I sure as hell don't have that kind of $ to spend. Ppl apend a lot of $ in general for bars here. But what i am sayingis this is a once in a lifetime experience.

I am actually on my way soon to a bar in Lincoln Park....close by Wrigleyville area. We talked to the owner, and guess what....FREE seating for us as long as we get there before 4pm. It's all about how u talk to ppl as well.

Lol...did you see ticket prices? $250 is (semi)reasonable and just a night out for some. And at some places food and drink is included. It's crowd control and free market capitalism.

Chugs had said 250 was (semi)reasonable to spend on a night out earlier in the thread.
Going out more than a few times a week is crazy to me. To spend 250 on a night out is insane. It's just throwing money away in this case. Your sitting in a bar watching the game on TV. But, chugs is right, crowd control and market capitalism.

Eating out also seems to be the way things are moving. You can purchase condos now without a kitchen as the cost per square footage is already way too high in major urban centres. So, your outside essentially is your kitchen. How do you save money this way?

It goes to the bigger picture for me, people are in debt and are living a pricey lifestyle then they complain how they are in debt. Warren buffet has lots of advice to give on saving money. Essentially it is habits we form and it's not about finding a job that pays well or profiting off a idea or business that will get you rich. It's saving money. Saving money will get you rich.
Going out to bars is only short term gratification just like shopping.
You can hang out with friends at someone's home and still have an enjoyable time and not make some bar owner rich. I get that it is a once in a lifetime experience and most want to experience and be part of it. But, capitalism has sure created lots of suckers who are willing to pay that kind of money to sit inside a bar where you still watch the game on the TV(only closer to the ballpark) You can't blame the owners for doing so. I would do the same. Many fools out there. To each their own. Your smart for talking your way in for free. Saves your table 1000 if there will be four of you.
Have a good time varkey.

Media acted like it was their birth right to win the world series. Fucking sickening. All those FS1 shows. Then the city was acting like it was a huge party just to get there. It's like......don't you realize you could lose and the only thing people will remember is the cubs losing in this world series? Whole city partying like they already won... I found that a bit weird. Like okay you haven't had a world series appearance in like 70 years. Ok so what? You win in hockey and basketball and had possibly the greatest football team ever in the 85 bears. So I just did not understand the "lets party before we know who wins." It felt like the championship almost wasn't a priority anymore for the city
