The way the game of basketball is being played today (evolving) it will become almost impossible to officiate according to the fundamental rules that were set-forth at the beginning when the game was first play more than a 100 years ago. The rim (hoop) is still 10' high with the average player being a foot taller than when "Jimmie" invented the game. The players are 75-100 lbs larger/stronger and they take-up a lot of room yet the cube playing-space is still the same).
Basketball, "the non-contact sport".....Not anymore. The uniforms of the future will need to be like football gear or Darth Vader customs for protection. I'm surprised there aren't more injuries than there are with the game played the way it is today
Bad Calls: That will never end as long as "man" is blowing the whistle. So what does the came of basketball do to "clean-up" the refereeing aspect of the game?
Perhaps, some day, we will see "motorized robots" that contain computer- driven equipment (digitized cameras that can determine what calls are to be made with precision and accuracy based on the current rules of the game (how is that for some 21st century science-fiction). In the mean time, "kill the refs".
