Regardless of handicapping this particular game, saying Smoltz is done is retarded.
Look at Smoltz and Millwood's last few starts....who's been better?

If Bosox pull this off it i dont believe it will because of smoltz more like the bullpen come in and save the game with help of bats just dont see this as a bet worth taking at all.
Basically if you want to keep your money dont bet on smoltz many other games out there to take he not worth the risk IMO. He couldnt even get a win vs the nationals. Yeah it was his first start but even i feel i can go out and pitch a win vs the nationals.

But you basing your "he's done" evaluation on the 4 starts he's given the Red Sox this year is, for lack of a better word, retarded.
He's basically doing exactly what the Sox expected from him at this point, and should provide them with value down the stretch and/or in the playoffs.
You're point regarding how many wins he has for the Red Sox this year (in a whopping 4 starts), tells us all we need to know about your knowledge of baseball (and that you apparently weren't paying attention to his 2nd start of the year where he was cruising through 4 innings with an 8-1 lead until a 2 hour rain delay knocked him out). So not that it really matters what he's done in his 1st month back, but he should be 2-2.
He was also leading the NL in ERA last year before he shut it down in favor of getting his shoulder fixed, so the guy obviously has somethng left.

Right, and I myself explained to you how it's impossible to tell that a guy's done in his 1st month back from surgery. Especially when he's just had a very very solid performance.
I don't love Smoltz in this spot either, though the Sox at this price vs a struggling Texas team off of a 14 inning game, who also just put their closer back on the DL ain't horrible.
For the price its not a bad play but i just think it dont pay off tonight.
Boston is at +1.5 runs at a -210 price. People are pounding the play and i think they lose on the bet.
Me,myself staying away cause its very possible red sox beat texas but i just dont think tonight wit smoltz behind the plate unless bullpen saves him.
