Great hire imo....#1 priority is to bring a nice promising change that will encourage KD then RW to resign

I've got an uneasy feeling about this hire. At the very least there will be a steep learning curve between year one and two. And if Durant and/or Westbrook don't stick around, the curve could go on for much longer. The "key" is for Donavan to get KD/Westbrook to buy into his system and Donavan's style/personality. Next year will be huge for everybody involved with that franchise..

He is no Brad Stevens. Give Stevens Durant and Westbrook, he may go 78-4 and be handed the trophy as other teams would forfeit.

I think if they kept Brooks, they would have to win the championship for KD to resign.

With Billy Donovan, there is a little bit of forgiveness in the players eyes....as long as it looks to them as the new coaching style has some serious potential (and with KD/Westbrook healthy, I could coach them to a good record and show "potential")

If Donovan is so bad they miss the playoffs, then that's pretty bad

I think with a healthy Westbrook/Durant anything less than the Finals is a disappointment..

agree...but my thought is that losing in the finals with Brooks I think means KD gives up on OKC/Brooks and leaves. With a new "big name" coach, a finals loss gets him resigned with optimism

Durant's not going anywhere. That is just media bs because they love to do everything possible to keep the NBA in the conversation.
