The Pot right now before u act is 1850...u got less than 10BB's with antes. If you have say 40% fold equity and at least a 20% chance of winning if you get called then shoving is the correct play...
I probably fold here actually preferring to shove any 2 from the button on the next hand. i just dont like A8, if an A calls it wont be A7 thats for sure and if you get called by a pr it will probably be bigger than an 8, so while the math may say shove my brain says fold without even completing the SB..

I am pushing here to pick up the pot. No one has shown any strength in the hand, and taking the pot essentially increases my stack by 50%. I think long term this is a profitable move b/c you have a chance to take down the pot without a call at all and you can also get a call and still have a chance to win the pot and double up.

In addition anyone at the table would have to make a questionable call with anything other than a decent pocket pair or AK or maybe AQ b/c they are making a $3600 call into a pot that is only now at $5650 so they would be getting well below 2:1 on their money with a call.

I agree with you PPP that pushing on the button again would not be a bad strategy either but I would prefer to do that with any two cards with fewer people in the hand and just pick up the blinds to allow myself another 7 hands to pick up a strong hand to make a move.

Shove. Stealing all those limps will increase our stack significantly and our M is too low to wait around.

I would call here. If I hit a nice flop I'm all in. I think shoving is bad here because you have so many people in the pot here you are getting snap called by someone with a stack. A-10 calls here I think.

Now if you fold you have another round of the table to find either a better hand or better spot to shove it.

just call... A8 is a treacherous hand... And after the flop if an ace comes up someone else probably has the best kicker... unless u hit 2 pairs or a straight draw this hand can't be played with much success after the flop

I dont think you can call here. You say if you hit a nice flop then you push, but also say that you get a snap call from a10. Well that A10 would have already limped. You dont think he isnt going to insta-snap call if he hits that nice flop you speak of? Essentially I feel its a fold or shove.

If "everyone has you covered", then raising that pot or even going all-in is likely to get called, right? If that happens, then you're stuck holding A 8 unsuited and hoping for a miracle.

My instict would be to dump that hand, but I could also understand limping in. Being the low stack I'd want to see some cheap flops, but A 8 unsuited is such a tough hand to win with. Without the straight or flush possibilities, you basically need 88 or A8 to hit the board. So, I'd dump it.
