Additionally that year Enzo accomplished something that I believe is a record but can't proove it.

1971, Enzo was a Triple Crown loser, finishing last (of batting qualifiers) in the three Triple Crown statistics, with a .222 BA, 0 HR, and 12 RBI.

That Enzo must have had some glove to stay in the lineup with those numbers at the plate..

Well wilheim is calling it a night..

For those of you that care what Hall of Famer Tommy Lasroda gave up the players first big league homer to click HERE..

Lasorda pitched 8 plus innings that day yielding only three hits but walking ten on May 28th. 1956 for the Kansas City A's vs the Chicago White Sox. The Hall of famer at the time was a young slim slick fielding rookie shortstop from Venezuela.

Good night, wil..

Aparicio is correct...

The great Luis Aparicio who btw. was the first ballplayer from South America to be inducted in the Baseball Hall of fame has his likeness carved in a statue outside of The Chicago White Sox US Cellular Field.

I was lucky enough to see Aparicio play several times during his career back in the day. Luis also played his last three years in the majors for Boston as their regular shortstop.

Career highlights and awards
AL All-Star: 1958–64, 1970–72
Gold Glove at shortstop from 1958–62, 1964, 1966, 1968, and 1970 (nine Gold Gloves)
1956 AL Rookie of the Year
Led AL in stolen bases from 1956–64 (nine consecutive seasons).
16 straight seasons with more than 500 plate appearances, tied for fifth best in MLB history.

Member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame
