Don Shula/Dan Marino.........not a fan of either.

Agreed I've never cared a lick for either of these guys. If the Colts don't get it done this year, then I sure as hell hope that the Pats go ahead and go undefeated. I'm so tired of the 72 Dolphins and there high and mighty attitude that I could f'n puke.

I can see both sides of this. I mean in the entire history of the NFL it's only been done once. It's something to be proud of. However, Shula saying that is dumb imo.

Signal stealing has always gone on. Obviously whatever edge they gained from doing this was not as significant as some make it to be. They are playing at a higher level than they ever have under Belichick, and that's that.

How is it obvious?

Why did the NFL take a way a #1 draft choice and hand out 750k in fines if it was "no big deal".

Why were the tapes destroyed prior to anyone other then the New York NFL guys getting to view them?

How long had Bill Bellacheat been taping people?

Many teams say the radio signals in NEw England always seem to godown for the visiting teams.

Where there is smoke there is fire.

Is NE still cheating? Who knows............I had no idea they were cheating this last time until they were caught, so for all I know they could be doing something now?

The NFL punished them thoroughly because it will do whatever it can to uphold the leagues image and protect its integrity.

Signal stealing itself though is not a brand new concept in football. It has went on before, and likely will happen in the future. There's no squeaky clean organization in this league.

Questioning the legitimacy of this team doesn't seem warranted. You're free to think whatever you like about the Patriots in years past, but this team has come out and played everybody hard and at an extremely high level. I'm sure the signal stealing is not going on currently. Doesn't seem to have slowed them down, actually it seems to have inspired them.

But what people forget is that NE may well have a 4 year back log of tapes from prior games. No doubt they are STILL using the info in those tapes to assist them.

What NE did was cheat, they admited it.

Who knows what else they have done or are currently doing.

It's like Bill Bellacheat when he cheated on his spouse ....fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me (in this case the fans).

New England is a team that has cheated, I have no reason to trust them now.

BTW, I think right now they are the best team I have ever seen.

Barry Bonds was also the greatest baseball player I ever saw, and we know what happened there.

That settles it...It's WED/DAY

Here is a quote from Jim Mandich

"You guys put forth the myth that we are pathetic losers down here clicking champagne glasses and clinging desperately to a record set 35 years ago," former Dolphins tight end Jim Mandich told the Daily News. "Somehow we've been portrayed as being evil. We don't ever blow our own horn. It's a great record, but the record doesn't get beaten.
"The Patriots have assembled a powerhouse of a team. They are a classy bunch of guys and play ball the right way. If they want to join the unbeaten club, come on aboard."

He must want Tom Brady on the Vikings sex boat....come on aboard guys....

I heard on the radio today that the 72' Dolphins had one of the easiest schedules OF ALL TIME.

Sounds like they need an asterik on their record.

Why? This isn't like college where you make your own schedule for the most part. You play the teams your scheduled to play.

While the '72 dolphin's are a bunch of whining bitches, Don Shula is not. You have never seen Don Shula come out with anything like this in the last 35 years. And this is definitely a very serious charge being leveled by Shula against Belichick.

And lets remember that the Pats do not have a cakewalk the rest of their schedule. Playing the Bills and jets will not be easy because those teams SuperBowl will be that game. The games against the steelers will be a great matchup. And their hardest game will be against the Giants to end the season. There is a very good chance that the Giants will desperately need that win while the Pats will be thinking the playoffs. Will Belichik play his starters the entire game just to preserve the perfect record? i doubt it.

I think he will play them. I think Belichick wants this record more than his players. He has already shown that he won't back down with a big lead. Belichick is going to ride this unbeaten streak until it ends either at a loss or winning the SB.

This is the last time I say anything on this. What the Pats did is violate an NFL rule. You can tape anything you want from designated areas of the field. What the Pats got caught at was taping from the sidelines nothing more.
The commish finding were that they did not cheat in their opinion of that or any other game.
Its close to impossible if not impossible to use that games tape to cheat (steal signals) in the game you are playing.
What the Pats did is tape from an undesignted area of the field.
All teams use fucking tape of everything. Some do it better than others.I like you want the coahing staff that knows how to do it the best.Lets not shit each other, so don't you.
The guy that got caught is 9-0.The guy that ratted is 1-8.
This whole thing is from an agenda driven media that suddenley has adopted "taking a knee" as the most popular play in football, and breaking the knees of a QB is justifyable and "part of the game."....fuckin incredible.

As much as I dislike the Patriots I think Shula and the '72 Dolphins are moronic for their little tradition and the way they seem to protect it.

I agree 100%, but can you see Brady and Belichik popping champagne every year 20 years from now if they go 16-0? :puke1:

It was based statistically on either the records that seasaon of teams they faced or the record of those teams the previous season.

2007 Quality Standings
Cold, Hard Football Facts for November 5, 2007

The Cold, Hard Football Facts measures the performance of each NFL team only against opponents with winning records, or what we call Quality Teams. It eliminates the dead-weight detritus of games against second-stringers and gives you a look at the inner core of a team and lets you know how they perform when the shit gets heavy.

WEEK 9 OVERVIEW
Who's beating up bad teams?

Surprise, surprise! The surprise teams of 2007 are almost all surprise teams because they're beating up bad teams.

And for those of you who believe in the brilliantly simply wisdom of the Quality Wins Quotient, that's no surprise at all, is it?

Buffalo (4-4) - 0-3 against winning teams and have beenn outscored nearly 3 to 1 in those three games.

Carolina (4-4) - all four wins against teams .500 or worse.

Cleveland (5-3) - All five wins have come against non-Quality Teams.

Detroit (6-2) - five of six wins have come against non-Quality Teams.

N.Y. Giants (6-2) - 5-0 against teams .500 or worse.

Tampa Bay (5-4) - 4-1 vs. non-Quality Teams.

Tennessee (6-2) - 5-0 against teams .500 or worse; 1-2 vs. Quality Teams.

TOP OF THE QUALITY WINS FOOD CHAIN
New England's strength of schedule was a concern early in the season.

No longer.

The Patriots have a league-leading 4-0 record against Quality Opponents, and a league-leading +21.7 PPG differential in those games.

Including in that 4-0 mark are victories over two otherwise undefeated teams, the 7-1 Colts and the 6-1 Cowboys. And both wins for New England came on the road.

Only two other teams have more than a single win over a Quality Opponent: the mighty Colts (3-1) and surprisingly tough Packers (2-0).

Only three teams, meanwhile, are unbeaten against Quality Teams. The Patriots (4-0), Packers (2-0) and Steelers (1-0), who continue to quietly lurk on the edges of the AFC power elite, waiting to pounce on the Patriots or Colts.

Pittsburgh gets its shot at New England in two weeks, and, as the likely NFC North champ, may got at shot at the Colts, as well, when the postseason rolls around and all these regular-season games will seem like a quaint reminder of the time we pretended that other teams besides Quality Teams actually counted.

1972 Miami Dolphins

- Opponents winning % = .396

- Dolphins record against teams with a winning % = 2-0

Look it up. They only played two games against winning teams.
