in speaking of Belichicks character, lets not forget that his wife did leave him for having an affair dating back to his days with the Giants.

thats about 20 years of side action

Saban is a good college coach but he sure as hell isnt a very good pro coach. I think he realizes that. Plus he is a horrible evaluator of talent at the pro level.

My thing with this is he should have said no comment when reporters asked.

Financially though, he made the right decision, because his value/stock wasn't going to get any higher. Another terrible season with the Dolphins would put him on the hot seat and then he wouldn't have been in the position to negotiate a high contract tag.

But his handling of this process was a PR reps nightmare.

Parcells wanted to keep Belichick as defensive co-ordinator so the deal was that when Parcells left, Belichick would be HC.

Parcells found out that that the Patriots were about to hire Belichick

Parcells resigned, and that AUTOMATICALLY made Belichick the Jets head coach ... but Parcells was going to "oversee" the team, which meant Belichick really wouldn't be head coach.

Belchick decided to honor his agreement with Bob Kraft and left - he has never even been rumored to go anywhere else.

Parcells, the real weasel, hasn't won anything without Belichick and never will.

Interesting that a guy frmo mass and a guy with a red sox avatar are defending belichek who was ruled in the wrong by an independent party. Obviously, people in boston don't understand the concept of contractual obligations.

Is that BEST you could come up with?

It was a TRIGGERED contract ... not something he SIGNED. Get over it. He didn't like the Jets ... so act like the jilted lover.

wow, you either don't have a clue what happened or have no understanding of contract law. Of course he signed a contract, they couldn't bind the man without a contract. He had signed a contract as a coordinator which included the trigger. Do you think the jets just created the Trigger clause out of thin air and somehow convinced the smartest Commissioner of our lifetime to go along with them? Think before you post.

I would think there has to some legal grounds for Dolphin Owner to sue Saban for breach of contract.
He sucks anyway and the players did not like him. I heard Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor were pushing for one of the other coaches on the staff to be elected head coach.
Why not hire Mike Shula?

Not sure of his name...

If we were debating legalities, you would win ... BUT ... the debate is about being a WEASEL.

Parcells tried to screw up Belichick's deal with New England by resigning ... but still being the man in charge.

In return, Belichick was man enough to go tell Parcells to fuck himself ...

So it would seem more like Parcells was the weasel to me.

... and I feel bad for Tuna. He knew he wouldn't win with BB - he hasn't - and he won't.

... and I feel bad for loser Jets fans ... they got screwed out of having Belichick as their coach because Parcells still wanted to be in charge.

Do you mean Bates? He was pretty good that half year he was there.
