In all fairness, we must recognize that this wonderful place for free exchange of ideas costs money to maintain and run.

Either the users pay a fee to be here, or we let the sportsbooks and sports services run their ads which pay the bills.

It's a fine line because where there are ads there are lies and exaggerations. I guess the happy middle ground is to make sure the companies that advertise here are reputable ones and the service they provide measure up to high standards in terms of ethics and fairness.

I personally welcome ads and promos (even in the form of threads on the forum) from solid sportsbooks which offer a fair deal and pay on time. I don't welcome ads from Don Best because I do not believe in the product they offer. Of course that's just me.

In the case of non-advertisers I agree that their promotions should be limited to the promotion forum, but to make a post here (without a url) giving a link to the promo forum (in which there may be a url) should be accepted. Reposting by the Shrink was a nice gesture, but beyond the call of duty IMO. Wil had already done the right thing and left a link here to the promo forum.

Rick,

There was some talk a couple years ago about

In your opening post you claim "The computerized line service was invented by Don Best Sports". It was in fact invented by Don Bessette quite a few years before Mr Corbo bought into it and turned it over to the current crew. Am I wrong? There are a few other posters on this site who can verify this.....ScottyS

i have used both services BTW i would like to thank G&J for the free trial . Don Best has been the line service since the offshore boom took off G&J has a fine product but without the big books like CRIS GRANDE PINNACLE OLYMPIC DUST CASCADE RIO WWTS they really dont have have a chance. If Don Best does hold the books hostage like it has been reported then until the books stand up there is nothing G&J will be able to do. Maybe the books will give G&J a chance if Don Best will let them

I thank ya was posting at MW but our Corporate IT has blocked all wagering sites so Im happy to be here posting. So is it true Don Best is holding the big guys hostage ? G&Js screen is not bad if they could only land either Pinny OLY or Cris they would start to cut into the DB screen

Just to let you know, G&J does have a sister book of one of the major offshore books, Hollywood. It is called AllWorld. The same can be said for Olympic as well. The book on G&J is called Bet Jamaica.

They also have SportBet, which is also listed on the Don Best feed.

As far as some of the sharper books on the G&J line feed, IMO, I would say BestLines, SirBet and Five Dimes (sister of ABC Islands, Jazz Sportsbook) fall into that category.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks.

Chalk

Also, I do remember Don Best had mention they were planning to put out a sports pager, but it had later been scrapped. Any idea as to why?

yes I used Five dimes at the front of my list of books I was unaware they were involved with the Jazz books. Dont get me wrong Don best is the standard and anyone who wants to grab market share is going to have to be able to land a Top tier book to accomplish this

Chalk Eater,
Jazz Sports, ABC Islands and LooseLines, as well as our 4 land based casinos located in Costa Rica are all owned by DPT Gaming Corp. and not part of 5 Dimes or any other sportsbook group.

Thanks,

Harvey
