Don Best - any suggestions for alternatives?

I've been using the Don Best free offshore express to see where lines are at, movement, etc. I've seen that they will no longer be offering this service for free. I'm not a huge player, so can't really justify the $100/month. However; I still like to be able to easily see where the lines are when placing action.

Any suggestions as to any alternatives? I've see www.feistlines.com, but it doesn't quite have the same breadth as DB...

thx

I also thought this question may come up alot. I haven't been on the forum lately so I didn't know off hand. Did a quick search and didn't get much luck.

If this has already been hashed out here, and you can refer me to the thread, it would be much appreciated. thx

i am wondering what happened to g and j line service? I thought they had a great product, but must now have some glitches, have heard time and time again they were ready to get started again. A great product at a great price>

Shrink - Good deal. That's just what I was looking for.

Buddy - never heard of G and J. It seems there may be a decent demand for this type of service if somebody could offer some solid service at a decent price. With DB, it was kind of nice to be able to manipulate the settings with a Java-type version, but I guess beggars can't be choosers, huh??

I use betbrain, Tip-Ex, and covers.com occasionally, but they don't cover the CR Books you all seem so fond of.

Not just saying this because I am a moderater here......but the LIVE LINE service here at the RX is fabulous! The feature I wish it would have that it does not is the ability to see what the previous line was compared to the current. Other than that, this is an A+ product!

Noam, thanks for the suggestions. I checked them out and definitely seem like good alternatives.

Strutt - yeah, it's nice to see line movements and where it was at. I'm sure the Rx service is great though

Java, I did call the Psychic Friends Network - after they spent the next 2 hours telling me basically they'd known all along I would call, the phone bill was $551 - I'd have been better off paying DB for the platinum service

DB is worth $50 a month

Company will be closed in 2 years especially when new laws pass and FBI goes after gambling operations.

JJ-
If you think that the kind of info and service DonBest provides is worth $50/month, then on that scale you must be worth 1 penny/month.

The info for one good bet pays for DonBest (for players with the money and intelligence to make use of the service). JJ, I realize that the dartboard you use costs a lot less than $50, but from your posts, it seems as if your darts often miss and hit the wall anyway.

Admittedly, $500/month is pricey, but for the target audience (players with real money) it is chump change based upon the size of their bets. A guy who bets $50 parlays, probably wouldn't even understand the screens, let alone be successful enough to afford DonBest.

Anything can happen in 2 years from now, and that anybody would remember your predictions is the least likely. We could have 3 more 9/11 events by then or you might be banned from all posting forums or all the books might move from Costa Rica and Panama to Brazil.

The point is that DonBest will remain up and running this season and provide a service that many players (and books) want.
