I am not sure what it was, but it finally hit me that the fast food industry is really trying to kill us. I always thought the conspiracy theorists who believed this were nuts, but they aren't....it is the food companies that are out of their minds.

Domino's Pizza is now offering a FREE chocolate lava crunch cake with the purchase of a "Bread Bowl Pasta". As if the bread bowl and pasta doesn't have enough carbohydrates, they figured they would throw in a chocolate cake filled with chocolate. WTF?:ohno:

Not to be outdone, Pizza Hut is offering Hershey's Chocolate Dunkers as a dessert to complement your pizza. For those that may not know, the chocolate dunkers are breadsticks covered in chocolate that you dunk in more chocolate. Again, WTF?##)

What's next, KFC offering butter covered fried chicken that you dunk in a bucket of olive oil? Chili's offering the triple decker fajita sandwhich stacked in cheese laced foccacia bread?
:poop:

Well, time for me to finish up my banana split and mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwiched between two Chocolate Sundae Pop Tarts....
@)
....and then it's off to bed...after I smoke a cigarette !~~~!
and take a few pills :blowup1:

all washed down with a can of Coke :baba:....

Diet, Caffeine Free of course...gotta watch my diet.:103631605

Don't forget Olive Garden's "Never-ending Pasta Bowl."

I think you get my point though.

Ok, instead of olive oil, make it vegetable oil.

Chocolate does have some anti-carcinogens in it, but as it is potetially fighting off cancer cells from developing in your body, you become obese in the process.

I am not so sure about butter, but only certain cheeses are good for you. However, despite the potential benefits of cheese, it will still make you fat.

Olive oil or butter is 1000 times better than any vegetable oil. The vegetable oils all effect the compounds in your lipid profile that leads to plaque formation. Any industrial oil is terrible for plaque formation.

Plaque leads to heart attacks and strokes.

Oddly enough...the other foods that have been demonized like cheese, eggs, diary and meat also lead to healthier lipid profiles. Less plaque formation , which leads to less cardiac events. Saturated fats are good for you...but try to tell somebody that after 50 years of being demonized.

It makes sense if you think about it.

Man has been eating saturated fats from animals and dairy for thousands of years...we have adapted to that type of food. It is healthiest for us.

It's the grains, pasta, sugar and industrial oils that cause us problems.

Meanwhile ...CountChocula cereal and many breads still have a healthy heart symbol stamped on them. :ohno:

The medical evidence is out there...but its' getting out slowly because of the food giants political leverage.

I think one of the huge problems facing the US when it comes to food is people portion sizes.

When I visiting Florida, everytime I went for dinner the servings were huge. In my mind I would say "Cool I have lunch tomorrow" As I watch my sister-in-law eat the whole thing.

Some good advice I was given about food was "When you go shopping only buy the food on the outsides of the Isles. Breads, Dairy Meats and Veggies. It's the food in the middle isles that are worst for you.

When it's not politics...we can agree.

Well except for the bread part.

Bread is one of the worst things you can possibly eat in my opinion...which sucks because I love it...and it makes eating healthy much harder.

I don't want to be combative on this subject...whole grains are better than other grains...but any grains have much too high of a glycemic index and screw up your lipid profiles....which is what feeds plaque formation.

Still better off with out them altogether in my opinion...but it's a tough sell to most people.

Was told by the Zone guy at the Gym, Whole grains were still low enough...but some fresh sourdough is tough to turn down...

There is a lot of argument on the subject for sure.

Some of the advanced blood work trials I have seen still point to destructive lipid profiles from any grain...whole grain is less damaging...but it still leads to higher triglycerides and smaller particles that feed plaque growth.

And blood sugar is still effected....less so...but at some point it's like smoking less cigs or should you just quit?

Also, its not vegetable oil that's bad, its hydrogenated vegetable oil.

No...I try to low carb...but throwing out all carbs seems too over the top to me.

People on the extremely high protein Atkins type of diets have too many problems with kidney stones ect.

Moderation in all things seems like good advice to me.

I'd argue to stay away from any of the polyunsaturated vegetable oils...they still come from an unnatural industrial process.

Monosaturated oil is still the best for humans and is "natural".

Olive oil is the clear choice there in my opinion...or butter...or yes...lard.

But for sure stay away from hydrogenated anything...that is the worst.

We can all agree on that.
