guys amazing game. unbelievable coaching staff. but do you guys consider those guys ned? looks like a bunch of islanders to me? anyway, balls out performance to pull that out. closer for the dominican looked like he was shitting a brick in in 9th so wasn't surprised to see him blow it.
Do we consider them Dutch? Yes, actually we do, well not all of us though, it's a big subject in many political issues in this country. Probably we're the most multicultural country in the World. You see a lot of Antillian people in the Dutch baseball team, you see a lot of Turkish, Moroccan and Surinam people in the Dutch soccer team and at some point you might even see some of them in the Dutch speed skating team. Many generations from these countries live in the Netherlands already and in fact most of them are actually born in the Netherlands at this point. From what I know this is indeed not the case with most of these baseball players and sure I'd like to see some of the "original" Dutchies in the team as well, but this is what you get in a country like the Netherlands. By the way, the guy with the double base hit in the 11th that brought them in scoring position was a white guy
What about Shane Victorino? Is he as a guy from Hawaii being a true US guy? It's about the same, although I understand the number of Hawaiian players is much less than Antillian players in the Dutch team and also Hawaii is much closer to the US than Curacao is to the Netherlands. I also remember that right before every Olympics there is a whole bunch of International athletes that is going to be naturalized to US citizens, so they can win some gold for the US. It happens everywhere and actually these guys have Dutch citizenship since they're born.
