Doesn't look like a Denver +7 spread will materialize....

Willie, I'll be lining up a variety of small plays on some prohibitive favorite type spreads for the Panthers like that. If this game gets out of hand for the Broncos, we could very well see the same result as two years ago. I find the amount of talk of the vaunted Denver defense almost laughable at this point. I would give it credence if the Carolina defense was inferior, but it's far from it. The Panther have an excellent defense and will be playing a very average Broncos offense. However, the other side of the coin is not the case. The Broncos defense is going to have their hands full. And as I mentioned a couple of times in other posts, the Broncos faced most of their toughest competition at home, where they have a decided advantage. They had two tough road games. One in KC, which they won early in the season. The other was in Pittsburgh, in which they were embarrassed when they gave up 24 unanswered points after taking an early lead and were shutout in the 2nd half. Their playoff path was much easier than Carolina's, who played two of the top defenses in the league in Seattle and Arizona. Denver on the other hand got to play a Pittsburgh team with gimpy Roethlisberger a no Antonio Brown (and the Bronocs didn't exactly roll them). Yes, they played an outstanding game against NE, no one is taking anything away from them on that, but it seems the Denver fans are putting an awful lot of weight on that one game (they seem almost hypocritical when they ask who did the Panthers play). I guarantee you, given the choice, anyone would have loved to have played the Broncos playoff schedule instead of the Panthers.

And yet all we get from ryanphan is a silly emoticon. Is that all you've got?

BFL, tongue in cheek on the 27.5 (although I may throw 100 or so on it if I have some money to burn, I'm on the fringe of getting there but can't get over the hump)

I will do a special line, with 9.5 and 13.5 being the most likely candidates

for Seattle vs Broncos, I did 6.5 and 13.5

I am going to go straight up the line, lowering my bet incrementally as I get to the higher numbers (9.5, 13.5, 16.5, 20 1/2...etc, and I might get up to your tongue and cheek number, lol). Hey, if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. But I'll say one thing. This game has a hell of a lot better chance of being a Carolina blowout than a Denver blowout. If Denver pulls out this game, it will be by a very low margin of victory. But I don't think anyone would be shocked if Carolina wins by three touchdowns or more. It happened a couple of years ago and it can happen again.

Carolina looks like a one dimensional team to me....very good at rushing #1 in attempts and #2 in rush yds and #11 in yds per rush.........but their passing game is suspect......#28 in pass attempts and#29 in pass completions although they do seem to get some distance out of the ones they throw #6 in yds per pass..........The Denver defense looks like they are made to stop these guys rushing #9 in rush attempts #1 in rushing yds #1 in yds per rush......#1or#2 in ten defensive category s.........if Carolina has a defensive weakness it is defending the pass #32 in attempts and #27in completions............Denver offense I don't know what they do....they don't excel at anything except field goals......well just stop Carolina and do something new

Of course, you forgot that most important one...turnover ratio. Carolina is +20 and Denver is -4. Let's see how that shakes out when Denver gets behind.

As of this morning at Southpoint, Carolina ML has dropped from -230 to -210 in a 3hr. time span.
I expect the ML to drop even more along with the point spread.

+200 on DEN disappearing fast. Still, +190s not to shabby either. If you're taking DEN. Get in now.

Gee, Ya think? This line never had a prayer of getting to +7.

Everyone thought Denver had no chance against New England, and those people got crushed.

Good luck to those taking Carolina, hoping to get the money back that was lost last game.

One thing Carolina backers have going for them, Cam Newton showed excellent leadership skills last game. I heard that was a phenomenal way to pick the winner, except for maybe the Arizona/Green Bay game.

Small lean to Denver. Top ranked defense getting 6 tough to pass up. Had them large last game for the same reason.

Under looks better to me. Denver will have a hard time scoring, Denver defense keeps it close and under.

Let's hope so and the spread also, so Carolina backers can make even more. Hopefully this will be as easy as the last game (I'm guessing more of the same).
