does using a groupon make you look cheap when out with friends/date?

If they are people you already know then they already know you're cheap. Whipping out the groupon won't surprise anyone nor will they care. Just a generalization but I'm pretty sure people who use groupons were cheap way before groupons were invented. @):)

Well, no matter what ....you don't whip out the restaurant.com., groupon, or anything similar on a first date ....if you want to hope to get laid that night , or get a second date.

So you made a poor stock purchase and the rest of us should stop using it?

I take it you must not keep up with the stock market

As an owner of a business I hate Groupon or daily deals ect...used them once and will never again

The business gets maybe 10% of the total value of the package...and the customer rarely comes back and pays full price.

Thats why I'm short their stock, in the long run I dont think they can keep growing, alot of struggling businesses will give them a try but then realize it really didn't help them get new customers, and they will lose money on the deal to boot. They also have had some accounting shenanigans that are hurting their reputation.

I asked a girl to come over one time, told her I was making macaroni and cheese, for some reason she didn't go for it.

What percentage of buyers dont use there coupons?
If 100 people bought it and only 90 used them that should help offset some of your cost right?

the original buy amount never expires, so even if u forget to use it before the promo ends, u can still bring it in and get as much value as u paid online for it. so if u bought $10 for $25 in value and forgot to use it, you can still take it in and get $10 value for it. so i guess more so do you think 10 out of 100 people would completely forget it?

ive heard some restaurant owners in online reviews treat customers like shit that come in and use the coupon, i dont get why they offered it in the first place and then continue to put up new offers afterwards

most of them only realize too late how much they're screwed, typically the consumer might pay say $25 for a $50 coupon, the business might only get $10 of that with groupon getting the rest. Once they see how much they are losing, and the fact that few of these new customers return, it's not surprising they get surly.

Many of the groupons around here (in the DC area) at nicer restuarants are around $20 for $40....so basically, if you go, you get $20 off...but have already paid $20. So your bill is $40 off. I'll usually use that to buy a $40 bottle of wine w/ the meal...so, essentially all I have to pay for is the meal (as the other $40 is taken care of). I know many of the restuarants I've used have re-issued the offers over and over. You can see how many are bought also...which tells you if its a good deal.

I just used one last weekend w/ a girl. We went to a winery about 60 miles west of DC. It was $28 for an $80 value. It was great/awesome. Well worth it.

There's a Korean Spa (no happy endings) that's opened 24/hours a day that ran one recently. It was like $17 for entry (which is normally $35) they sold around 1200. This is just for entry into the spa....no services.
