Hey a friend of mine was teling me about this "system" he used....i don't know anything about gambling as im new and was just looking for some input..it seems like common sense but here it goes

If a team is more than a 10 point dog, bet them and bet the OVER. If you dont win the OVER, then there's a very good chance the favorite didnt cover the spread, so you win that bet. The only way you lose both bets is if the dog basically gets shut out.

thanks again and like I Said i donno anything so just running things by you guys

my biggest problem with this is the fact that when I bet a side and total on the same game, I usually don't look to go 1-1. Generally speaking (by generally, I mean ~60% of the time) I bet the under when I like the dog and over when I like the fav. I bet the side and total hoping to go 2-0.

well, it depends on the gambler... some ppl do it his way--other do it BP's way.

Me? There's not set trend. Some games are gonna go over, some won't. lol... you have to see how live the dog is and what offenses, and defenses are playing.

Perfect example was the Boise St. game last night. You would have lost both wagers. Happens alot.

I think that's a pretty worthless "system". I think you should make side bets and total bets totally separate of one another. That doesn't mean you can't bet a side and a total in the same game, but you should look at them independently. In my mind, he is saying "I will go 1-1", in which case he is still losing juice.

I agree with you BigPig, but it screwed me last night. Loved the under and liked boise but figured if boise covered it was going over, so had to bet under and LAtech
