The Ravens vs 49ers Super Bowl?

I definitely can see some similarities here.

49ers came in with a hot, duel threat qb. They could run the football with a power running game and solid OL. Control the clock. Had a very stout defense.

On the other side, Baltimore knocked off NE to get to the game. Hardly anyone feared Flacco as a QB. Their offense seemed average and methodical. Their defense could bring pressure.

I believe SF was about a 4.5 point FAV that game too...

Yeah. That game was a joke. Cards got their ass kicked. Plain and simple. Carolina was the better team.

I think Denver can neutralize Cam and that running game. Manning just has to play an average game and not try to do too much.

Maybe wishful thinking. But I'm leaning Denver here. Would love to get 6...

Not even close. Baltimore had a very good running game with a QB that could run and throw more than 30 yards. Denver has neither.
If Carolina goes up by 10 or 14 points this game will be just as this week when the crushed the Cards.

Well, I didn't say it was EXACTLY like it. lol

Just that there are some similarities. Like the ones I pointed out in the original post. Similarities right down to the line on the game.

No, not at all

Really?

"49ers came in with a hot, duel threat qb. They could run the football with a power running game and solid OL. Control the clock. Had a very stout defense."

That doesn't remind you at all of Carolina? I know its hard to think back and remember. But Kap was red hot back then. People were gushing over him similarly to how they are with Cam right now.

Of course, the big difference with BAL and DEN is the QB play. But defensively, they both were very good and bringing the pressure.

Im just saying some similarities. Of course it doesn't mirror it to a "T".

Kap couldn't carry Newton's jockstrap. One guy is a proven QB who can read defenses, audible, etc. The other is a hack with the football acumen of a high schooler. No similarities.

You are judging Kap on what he has been the past couple of seasons. He has been garbage.

That run to the Super Bowl that year, he was fantastic in the playoffs. You don't remember what he did to Green Bay in that 1st playoff game at home? People were crowning him as the next great thing. Just as they are with Cam now.

Just a year ago, people were saying Cam couldnt read defenses. They said he was a bad locker room guy. He got in fights in practice with teammates.

He acted like a baby on the sidelines if things werent going his way.

How fast people forget...

Uh, no he wasn't. He was a flash in the pan. And shy of a power shortage that saved the 49ers asses, he showed just how inexperienced he was. I truly believe the Ravens win by over 20 if they didn't get that break to settle them down.

I believe he was the guy that crowned himself by his obnoxious "I'm as good as Manning and Brady"

I see. You are one of those guys that's always right.

It could be black, but you would argue its white.

Gotcha...

Exactly my point, pal.

He flashed that year and took his team to the Super Bowl. He was playing great, within the confines of that 49er offense that year.

Talk about a short memory. Yeah, their defense had nothing to do with it. Right pal.

Can you read? I said SF had a stout defense. They were outstanding that year on D.

They had a great OL too. And a great running game.

All reasons why Kap was able to do what he did. As those are reasons Cam and the Panthers were so good this year.

I think you are little confused. Im not saying Kap was as good that year as Cam was this year. Cam will be the MVP.

I'm just saying there are some similarities in the 2 teams.

You say, "Not at all." lol

Ok, pal.

Can you read? I'm mostly hearing Kap...blah, blah, blah...did you see what he did against GB...blah, blah, blah. Yeah, I saw what he did against GB. He started the game with a pick 6 and like most games it was the halftime adjustments and the defense that got the job done. The Niners defense was 2nd in the league that year in points allowed, and held Aaron Rodgers to 24 pts, which was noteworthy in the game you were referring too. And sorry, I wasn't very impressed by GB's defense (any running QB would have given them problems). And it's more than apparent that Kap couldn't make adjustments himself as he always needed the coaches to give him the halftime adjustments because he was too stupid to be able to audible out of plays (unlike Newton). They were down to Atlanta 17-0 in the first half and getting their butts kicked by the Ravens also. He needed to be spoon fed what to do because he simply didn't have the football acumen to do it. Again, Kap couldn't carry Cam's jockstrap. I think you just don't like Cam because he kicked your team's butt. It's a dumb comparison.

Circles.... Not interested in them.

Good luck with your Carolina play. Hope you got a good number...
