Does the word "resources" and "memory" have the same meaning?

I got the message that "system is low on resources". Does that mean the memory is low or something else is low?

I'm up to a gig now and it still doesnt seem like enough.

And circuit city I notice they love to charge out the wazoo for this stuff.

I havent looked, but I have a suspicion 90 bucks for a 512 stick might be a tad high.

There are 2 different type of computer memory??
So when it says system is low on resources, which memory is it referring to ?

When Windows is reporting it, it is based on combined resources - available memory by any means. Technically, resources does not just refer to memory but generally speaking that is what it comes down to. Depending on what you have for RAM, you can make adjustments via 'System Properties' in ControlPanel. Even if you choose the "Let Windows Adjust.." (approx) button it can usually help your cause if machine is bogging down. It may not optimize memory perfectly but it should be improvemnet. I''ve challenged it over the years and it does pretty well.
