A good argument can be made for being proud of President Bush and Reagan.

I don't see anything Kerry has done while serving in the US Senate for 20 years that would make one proud.

A good argument??? Game, get real. Politicians are a unique breed and shouldn't make you "proud". After all this is supposed to be about self-less service to the constituents, something I don't think any of them even believe in now. Politicians in any office of power got elected thanks to others, they make their decisions thanks to others and their money, then they come and try to take all the credit only for the limited scope of decisions that they think people care about which turned out good. That isn't something worthy of pride, no matter what you think they accomplished. That was the whole point of my thread, I said hey you can choose whoever you'd like to support, but the whole making me proud thing makes me wonder about one's head.

I'm proud of Ronald Reagan, the man won the cold war without firing a shot. I hope some Germans appreciate that.

I'm proud of GW Bush, I'm proud of how he's handled the years after 9-11. IMO he's done a great job under extremely difficult circumstances. Bush could have easily went along to get along.
