Let me tell ya. Wish i had a quarter for ever time i have heard that the government is going to phase out the 100 bill. Been hearing that for thirty years.
No way this happens. Can you imagine cashing out your chips in Vegas? Everything has to go digital before this happens, and we're still a ways off.

Where was the kind of technology we gave today, & will have in the next 10 years 30 years ago?

How far along were computers 30 years ago? A lot has changed since 1986.......we had computer programming in 1986 in highschool, & it was a complete joke compared to what they have today.

The system is wet up to enter into a cashless society now, the system wasn't available in 1986, but it certainly was talked about because they knew eventually the technology would catch up to their ideas.......enter 21st century, here we are, & capable of it.

In Europe, they want to get rid of the $1,000 euro bill & $500 euro bill because drug dealers & other criminal elements use them to transfer money easier.

A cashless society will destroy many criminal organizations, unless you're in bed with the banks.

Say goodbye to your local bookies, local drug dealers, etc.......will we see this within the next 5 years? No, I don't think so, but we nay see it by 2030.

But I do think the big bills will be phased out long before 2030.

I can't go anywhere anymore & use a $100 to buy gas.....complete joke. They're making people use their plastic, a step closer to a cashless society.

Well yes, basically everything will go digital........that's gonna happen whether we like it or not.

The people born from 2,000 & later are being conditioned & will slowly roll into that digital world very easily.

We are living in radical times......

Keep all CASH transactions UNDER $10,000.

$10,000 or more and banks will report it.

$9,900 they won't.

Dude, that is so wrong that it isn't funny.

Bad advice bro, it is a different day in banking. They have to report $10,000. These tellers are trained to report any unusual or suspicious activity. $9900 is suspicious activity even if it is legit. Banks are one of the most regulated industries in our nation. They monitor more than you know

Ask buddyboy, he knows what he is talking about...james bong too

It says on every bill that this note is legal tender for all debts, both public and private. I think it's absolutely disgusting that cash is treated like contraband. What in the hell is this country coming to? That being said, changing small bills for big bills can be done without ID at any legitimate bank. I don't know what the big worry is, but you could certainly spread it out over 2-3 banks if you want.

let's say you and I have a completely legal business transaction.

I buy a car from you for $15,000 Cash.

I go to my bank and withdraw $15,000

I give you the cash, you give me the car and title.

you go to the bank with $7500 and deposit it and the next week you go to the bank and deposit the other $7500

you my friend just opened yourself to being prosecuted for structuring.

if suspected of this crime step number one is the feds will interview bank employees.

step number two is the feds can and will seize all monies in ALL bank accounts in your name as evidence.

step number three is to interview you, YOUR ONLY DEFENSE WILL BE TO SAY THAT YOU WERE GOING TO USE THE $7500 TO BUY SOMETHING ELSE BUT CHANGED YOUR MIND, SO YOU PUT IT IN THE BANK A WEEK LATER.

if you use the proper defense, your next step is to hire an attorney to work on getting your money back... good luck with that one.

the banks have software to id any all suspicious activity, trying to outsmart them is futile...

you can do a google search about the guidelines the feds use to seize money and property, even though they can go after 10's of 1000's of people they only go after the bigger fish.

my advice to you is to not worry about staying under the transaction limits, you would be better off keeping assets and money in your name under a certain amount.

I do it for about 20K at a time a couple times a year. Not always the same bank. Most of the time they dont even ask my name. Makes me wonder how easy it would be to do it with some counterfeit money.

Yup, the feds usually go after the bigger fish......knew a local bookie that use to put in $9,900 every week into one of his accounts, did it for years, & he was friends with the bank manager, but eventually the feds caught on.

And the investigation didn't start with him booking, it started from his banking methods. Eventually red flags were going up from those deposits.

He was really good friends with the manager too.........so who knows. Gone are the days of not being afraid to pull out a pocket full of cash & buy something you like.

F**k this cashless society that's coming......we the people fell into the trap of using credit cards, debit cards & direct deposit.......don't blame anyone but ourselves!

I have an uncle that had a successful restaurant in a college town, & he doesn't accept credit cards at his business, strictly cash........I've always wondered how he doesn't have a cc machine & still does one heck of a business, all those college kids, etc.......but its worked out, he's been open for 40 years.

It's cash only here at my uncle's restaurant too, and they line up all day, everyday, well except Sundays when it's closed.

Males you wonder if businesses like this will have to convert over to at least having a cc in the near future........I can see a law making it mandatory to giving customers an option......not everyone carries cash.

The older generation will carry cash......the younger generation growing up will be all plastic by 20-30-2040.
