  • Yes...Hoyer was 14-31 with 2 INTs and anytime you play that bad it is a big factor in a close game.

BAS and I were having a discussion about the Browns loss to the Colts on Sunday.

I said of course a QB playing awful is a big factor in a team losing by a field goal.

He says because there was 3:46 left in the game and the D had a 5pt lead but the Colts scored that the defense is to blame for the loss. The defense scored more points than the offense in this game but he seems to think all that matters is that final 3:46.

The previous 56 minutes where the D played well and the offense (led by Hoyer) played terrible largely don't matter and he is exonerated from blame for their loss.

What do YOU think?

Clearly semantics....Not sure any 1 player "loses the game"

The overall point is he sucked badly and greatly detracted from their chances to be victorious Sunday.

Can I word the poll differently?

Who is more responsible for the Browns loss Sunday

A. the defense

B. Brian Hoyer

Assuming you would go with A?

Pats you were right.

It's ridiculous to say the defense lost the game just cause they fucked up last.

The bottom line is given Luck's bad play and the 2 defensive TDs, if Hoyer even played like a below average QB instead of Ryan Leaf the Browns wouldn't be in a position to need a stop at the end of the game.

I thought Hoyer played ok. But you know Browns management is looking for a reason to put Manzel in cause he sells tickets and jerseys.

I.Would say the opposite. They seemed be looking for a reason to keep playing Hoyer.
He is nothing but a back up nfl qb.

Hoyer's numbers for the last 5 games
1td 8ints
QB rating: 57.2%

with Josh Gordon coming back I would have thought his numbers would have gone up, but he pulled a "Kirk Cousins" move and fizzled out

I've been a Hoyer backer from the beginning. But lately he's been looking like the deer in the headlights.

It's also curiously. The fans would just like to see what Johnny can do.

Of course Johnny has not played all year. I'll give him a little slack.
