does anyone think 28-1 on Carolina to win Superbowl is an underlay?

wild Bill is correct and I just sold a bunch of Carolina at 26-1. They are more like 45 -1 on a true (no juice) money line to win the superbowl.

Sorry, mvbski, Carolina would be anywhere from a pick to -2.5 against Green Bay. If somehow Green Bay annihilated Philadelphia, they might be a small favorite. I just don't see it.

Misread your post, mvbski. You would be doing very well to get someone to give you that line should the game come into fruition.

I have no interest in betting the Pack, I am just accepting the fact that the public is all over these games to a far greater degree than the smart money can offset it. If you believe the common thinking, something I am not quite sold on, the public has even more money than usual this year to bet because favorites and overs are doing so well, even into the postseason here. And make no doubt, the Pack will be the most public team in that matchup. So many people talking about how they are destiny to win it. Whatever, I don't agree but I don't set the lines nor tell the public what to believe. They will hammer that number and the books are well aware of it.

We are trying to make a judgement on what the odds would be in the future, not trying to make predictions. That is why I suggest anyone that wants to back the Panthers to do it on the a money line parlay.

Maybe it is just me, but I wouldnt take Carolina at 200 to 1 to win the super bowl. They have NO CHANCE to win the super bowl. For that matter, I would take them at 25 to 1 to win the NFC. No chance to win this week much less next week and I usually LOVEEEE underdogs

People have no clue what bad weather games really are do they. Cold is not a bad weather game. Ice and rain is bad. They hammer this line down for me to unload on the over with 2 passing teams who are going to light it up. Unbelievable.

good luck today everbody, what a day of football yesterday!

try- I think you are definitely on to something. My guess would be cousins. I also noticed that they both win every game that's finished.

Could be one of the squarest comments I've ever read. Futures are all about value and have NOTHING to do with ones opinion. If carolina is 20-1 to win the superbowl just about everywhere and some outfit is hanging 35-1 you grab it regardless if you like them or not. Finding value can balance your book and give you a free roll on the team you like

Good luck! Carolina can beat any team still alive right now and would love to have them at 25-1.

Dicky, dont be a dumbass, you only make a comment AFTER the game finishes!

You are the biggest square on this site. You dont even bet on the games! At LEAST wait until halftime of the superbowl before coming in and saying that it is a great bet

Hey dumbass
My comment was, futures are about value! thats all. The comment did'nt have anything to do with Carolina winning DUMBASS. If Carolina was 20-1 everywhere and you you got 25-1 or better that may hold value depending on your book. And if you passed on 25-1 to win the NFC just because you did'nt like them that would make you a bigger dumbass then you already are you DUMBASS. And I did like Carolina to win it all and it's documented at a forum that you post at.

Please don't talk to me about betting you little contest whore

Great pick. I think they are a winner. They already beat the best team in football 2 weeks ago.

The odds haven't turned out to be THAT good. If he bet the ML he would have had:

+190
+160
+215

2.9*2.6*3.15=23.73 for or about 23-1. The bet was a slight overlay, but by not betting it along the way he gave up the valuable option value of backing out and taking his winnings at any point in time if the team ran into a matchup he didn't like. It is far more efficient to just back away in this scenario than it would be to go out and bet the other way as a hedge. It looks good if he hits the 28-1 bet, but it may not have been the best way to go about it unless he was seriously convinced that the team would win at every step of the way.

He bet it on an exchange, so he could've sold the future if he wanted to back out or hedge.
