Does anyone see any value in St. Joseph's -29 tonight?

The first time these two teams played, St. Joe's and St. Bonaventure, St. Joe's won 114 to 63 which is a 51 point spread on the road. Playing this one at home on Senior Night shouldn't we expect another double digit blowout on the spread as well as another easy cover. It looks that way to me. Any opinions?

Jameer last game at home, this one could be easily covered at half and in fact halftime score of first game was St. Joe's 62 St. Bonnie 27 which is a 35 point spread. Second half last time with scrubs was 52-36 for a 16 point spread. Nelson played 26 minutes, West 24 minutes, Jones 19 minutes, Caroll 26 minutes, and Bryant 16 minutes. This tells me the scrubs played nearly all of the 2nd half. I would think Jameer would play a lot longer in this one being final home game. This one looks real easy!

I think there is alot of value in St Joes for the 1st half. They will come out firing on all cylinders!

jameer needs 30 points or so to set all time joes scoring record...i expect caoach to give him a shot as they are retiring his jersey before game...team is looking to finish perfect season and should be sky high....

both guards for st joe only played about 20 t 24 minutes. half the game. i f you look at the box score everybody played on their roster, and played some quality minutes.

st joes was on fire that night. they were something stupid like 21-26 for threes or something like that.

i just don't see that again. though being senior night i expect st joes to roll by 20 or thirty by half. does st bonnie in and play with some effort at all, at least inthe 2nd half to give a cover.

if he rotates players all game long, mixing and matching 1st and 2nd string, they still beat them 35.

i'm dying to take the points, but i just know i'll see the half time score and it will be 53 to 20.

I think the value is at St. Joe -14 for the first half. When they have the big lead late in the second half, they tend to ease up which might result in a backdoor cover for Bonnie.

Ignoring the fact that St. Joe's really isn't that strong a team and will be done by the 2nd round of the tourney...

St Bonny's is horrible. But, as someone said -- with it being senior night you could see a lot of PT from guys that don't play that often once the game is out of reach.

In my opinion, very rarely is there any value in a -30 point line.

sound of silence,

Look at my post above from the first game as St. Joe's played scrubs entire 2nd half basically and they still outscored them by 16. They had this spread covered by halftime on the road. I think Nelson won't be pulled quickly as it his senior night and has some records to break as well as playing in front of home crowd for last time. This one will be over by half imo. Normally I wouldn't consider this number but there is overwhelming support to lay it. Best of luck.

Well, if it makes you feel any better (and it probably should), the public has hopped on that +30 line and driven it down somewhat. I always feel a bit more confident about my plays when the public is betting against a good team to cover.

Kojak,

Thanks for bringing up this play. The 1st half has moved from -14 to -16.5 while the game has moved the other way -30 to -28.5. I've read a couple previews and I think both plays will win.
Thanks, Mule

kojak while i respect your handicapping abilities. One thing to consider; Coaches a wary of someone getting hurt in a meaningless game. cincy had a hell of a team until k-mart got hurt. it was the opening game 4 uc but was a horrible team

I live in the city and I spend a lot of time on Hawk Hill and I will say that 29 is not enough for this team after what happened against Rhode Island.

As with all of the Hawks games if they shoot well from beyond the arc they will beat the Bonnies by 30+ easy. Usually you can't watch the first 10 minutes of their games because they always take that long to really get into gear but tonight I think they win very big.

All that being said I'm not playing it. If I was it would be the Hawks or no bet. Keep in mind I've been really struggling the 2nd half of the year.

Good luck tonight!!

sb

First 10 minutes...23-9 St. Joe's.

This is a good pace for the Hawks considering they really haven't found their game yet.
