Unfortunately I think there is a good chance but I have been reading how McCain has no chance in it reminds me of the last election. Liberals thought there was no way Bush could win again and Kerry was going to the President and then we all know what happened.
It was hilarious to see the reactions of the left wingers. I saw a show on Air America and Randi Rhodes was in disbelief. One of my arrogant co workers said" I don't understand how this happened that would mean people in this building voted for Bush." Three of the four people in the room told her they voted for Bush and she got extremely angry and left the room.

Then the Democrats could not accept defeat so they start crying about voter fraud and other bullshit. They lost deal with it and if the Rebublicans lose I guarantee they lose with grace.

The pubs from the right wing media outlets all the way down to the posting forums were completely classless jerks during the entire DNC.

They will not call for a recount and protest, if they do I am done with politics. The Republicans pissed me off with the impeachment so I voted for Gore. The Democrats pissed me off with the hanging chad, recount bullshit. And if the republicans do the same shit I am done with it all.

Walk a mile in our shoes, you'll see media distortion of unprecedented levels, a far left wing that includes some of the most fucked up people in this great country and vile attacks against a 17 year old kid, and then the assholes turn around and say they feel sorry for her.

Just stop Rob.

HuskyFan, a right-thinking American like yourself should be asleep right now dreaming of sugarplums and fairies.

(hot girl fairies, that is..)

I think if we chop out the 20% of "far left wing" jerkolas and at the same time shave off the 20% of "far right wing" wackos, we're left with about 85% or more of Americans being not that far off from general agreement about day to day life.

No need for those of us in that much larger human majority to be busting on each other.

Sincerely

Do I really think he'll be president? Yea I do. Kerry was different. It was hap hearted. It was just an "anything but Bush" vote. The numbers emerging from the Democratic party weren't anything like this election. Not even close. Even Bill's run at it back in the 90's don't come close.

Believe me, the Democrats are putting this guy in office.

I agree with 3PEET.

Anything is possible in a Presidential election, so I'm not prone to make a gambling wager. But I really feel that after the past eight years of domestic neglect by BushCo that the American populace for varying reasons is ready to elect a ticket that will return federal focus to the USA.

Critics might honestly complain how such focus will be directed (tax increases et al) but I am more interested in seeing increased emphasis on the domestic concerns of the USA than I am on seeing continued spending of a half trillion in our federal tax dollars every four years for the purpose of "nation building" overseas.

Does anyone really think Obama will be the President?

1) Rev. Wright, Jesse Jackson, Oprah
2) Moveon.org, Daily Kos, Code Pink
3) Father Fleger, William Ayers, Bernadette Dorne
4) Michelle Obama, & Dick Durbin
5) Keith Overbite, Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow & Campbell Brown

These bigtime leftwingers still cling to hope. "Change we can believe in"
isn't working anymore.

Personally,

I think things will end up like they have for the last eight years. It won't surprise me if Obama gets more of the popular vote and McCain wins. If I were voting Democratic, I would be very nervous. The one comment that was made by one political analyst during the DNC was people need to ask themselves in a year when the use of the word "Republican" should be toxic, why is it that we've been deadlocked on the polls (admittedly McCain is up now but that's the post-convention bump). I think the problem with the economy will be Obama's downfall (especially if people in big cities realize that the Middle Class will actually pay more in taxes under Obama). The biggest issue I have with Obama is that he changes his mind based on the way the wind blows. You don't have to watch the polls anymore. You'll know how he's doing by his comments. For example, when I read yesterday he was thinking of delaying rescinding tax cuts, I knew he must have lost ground on the polls. Then I checked the Gallup poll and voila...he's down to McCain by 3 percentage points. I started paying more attention to the comments made by both candidates once they were the clear cut winner for both parties. Since that time, I've lost all respect for Obama (and I did vote for him in the primary). He doesn't speak from the heart or with conviction. He just keeps going with the same old and tired speech everytime I see him. There was even a blurb on it yesterday on Yahoo...basically saying it was the same speech said over and over with a few nuances. In addition, Obama's actually in favor of Affirmative Action which is absolutely insulting to me (I'm African American). It just makes him look like a hypocrite. Anyway, in the end my vote won't count that much because I live in California and it's been two decades since a Republican has won here. As for who I'm rooting for....hands down, it's McCain.
