"When someone asks me for money I always tell them that Labor Ready has money for them if they want to work. They'll even take ex-cons. When I was unemployed I went to work for Labor Ready for a couple days. If I have to work then they can too."

a lot of people don't trust day labor places

I just bought 2 lbs of ground sirloin.

When I unwrapped it, the first quarter inch was bright red, however the inside meat was grey-brown.

What are they doing?

This is a result of carbon monoxide. Every piece of beef is injected with CO to maintain a red "appeasing" color. You probably got the meat from the guy that was about to punch out for the day.

I dont give a shit or even bother with homless ppl. No reason why they cant dig holes if they have arms and legs. You are born with a certain hand, rahter it be 7 high or a royla flush. Deal with it. I'm tired of my tax dollars paying people to be more lazy.

Back to grocery...dont they sell spoiled shit to pig farmers? I saw that in that show Dirty Jobs. The pig farmer works out a deal with the grocery stores and gets whole heap of fucked up food for his pigs. Ummmm...anyone want bacon or pork chops?

i actually think the majority of that pig food came from vegas buffet leftovers. secondly, i can assure you the guy in that episode is unique in his choice of employment

I'm sorry I must have been mistaken. Everything is wonderful in every city in this great land of the free and home of the brave. I should have never said anything.

The official poverty rate in 2005 was 12.6 percent, 37.0 million people were in poverty

I seriously doubt ANY country in the WORLD rivals the US on food waste. It's like everything else here..

You people who have no problem with modern day slavery where everyone is under paid should pay for all the smart homeless people who won't work for peanuts. Homeless people are forced into being homeless.

Some people have pride and that pride puts them into the streets of the rich dictators land.

Not only that, but look into the archaic calculation they use to determine what the poverty level is. In reality, a lot more families in the U.S. are living in poverty than the official number says.

allow me to one up that.

since i am from philly, there was an ice cream franchise named hillary's. a dad of a friend of mine owned one downtown near chestnut street. anyway, he had the keys, decided to visit the store one night and after the biggest blunt i ever smoked , he gave me and my other friend the chance to make whatever we wanted. imagine standing in front of 20 flavors and more candy, sauces and nuts. I made a mountain and ate the whole thing.

a stoners dream come true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After reading what supermarkets do with meat (adding "color" and relabling the exp date) anyone know a good mail-order meat seller?

I've had Omaha Steaks but they aren't that good.

I want to try Kobe steaks but can't get myself to spend > $50 on a single steak.... even though I don't hestitate betting $100 on a long shot. Life of a degenerate I guess...

They don't get a write-off for donating old food. They already write-off the cost of their sold or disposed of inventory. Their taxable income may be lower because this old inventory hasn't generated any revenue.
