Does anyone know anything about treadmills?

Ive got one I paid about $800 for a couple years ago. When I moved a while ago, it stopped working after the move. I have no idea why. It just has no power. Im thinking it must be something simple, but I cant figure it out. I did of course try a few different outlets just to make sure its not the outlet.

Ive looked it over, gone thru the manual, but I cant figure out what I can do. I have the feeling its something simple, maybe a part I could replace?

I dont even want it anymore, but if I could get it working, I figure it has to be worth at least a couple hundred bucks to sell it rather than throw it out.

i could be wrong , but i think you stand on them, turn it on and start walking.

biggest waste of money possible.. a sidewalk will do just fine for me.. even better , i have miles of ocean front to walk and run on.

They make good clothes hangers and a place to hang your sweaty workout gear...

You get what you pay for with treadmills..It sounds like you have one of the better ones..But the resell value on home gym equipment is terrible..The only really good high end treadmills that I've seen are the commercial type that I have at my gym..It costs $2000 minimum to buy one of those...And those even go out from time to time.

not everyone is as fortunate as you to be living close to the ocean. Also, running on the sidewalk in metropolitan areas is never fun.

sounds like a personal problem..

every town has a decent place to go walk or run.

Yep, they do work good with Hanging your Clothes on. LOL

But like Gosooners said, I paid about $2K for mine. Smart move on me, as I have stopped using it for the past 4 years. :nohead:

I assume everything is dead, no display nothing. If that is the case, and it isn't a simple power cord issue (and it is prob not) then it is probably a fried power supply card (pc board) which feeds both high amperage motor circuit and the five-volt display circuit. Your treadmill sounds like a mid-range unit. Google the hell out repair expertise and replacement components. Buy a replacement power supply board - it should cost less than $100 and when you get it 'running' sell it immediately (something caused the circuitry to fail) Otherwise, you have a permanent clothes hangar. My geek guess is that the move jumped the tread belt alignment which, at startup, overloaded a PC board scr circuit.

Fwiw

I prefer stationary bikes, if you can do 30 minutes a day 6 days a week you can pretty much eat all the good things you like best. I'm not saying to throw caution to the wind completely and live on bacon and eggs fried in grease but the excersize will do your cardio health a lot of good and burn calories so you can eat hearty.

I prefer the types (see below) that allow for arm movement along with stationary peddling.

Treadmill vs. Stationary bike vs. elliptical (spelling?)

Thinking about getting one and not sure which is best or why? Guessing Treadmill not good cause it isn't the same as actual running (lifting your feet up and down will get you through a treadmill....on land lifting your feet up and down get you nowhere)
