Does anyone here beat the NBA year in and year out?? I am guessing the answer is no.

Just realized what I said above. I know "position matchups" sounds Obvious, but no other sport is as crucial when it comes to this & capping NBA games such as, just for example, comparing one power forward vs. the other. One mismatch in basketball is much more crucial than other sports, because it can quickly lead to foul trouble and eventually, other mismatches, which in turn lead to points.Another One of the most popular things I always see and hear many consider when capping NBA teams/games is taking into account a team who has been on the road for many games, therefore using the "fatigue factor" as one of their most important methods. However, I believe this is highly overrated.........

You can beat NBA if you middle games, but it's hard to get the numbers and places with sleepy numbers are sleepy about paying usually. There have been straight up handicappers able to beat it for a while, maybe 4 or 5 seasons like the "Chinaman" did once upon a time, but then something happens like a rule change or a different style of play that renders their methods ineffective. It's definately a moving target. Baseball is without question the easiest sport to win at. With money lines, it's easier to identify situations where you're betting with zero house edge or even in your favor mathematically. Plus a 162 game season means that there are going to be some off numbers presenting themselves. Plus there are factors such as wind, rain, pitchers with sore arms that are trying to pitch through it, etc. that the linesmakers don't always manage to figure in the line.

I have made monster scores when I incorporate 4-5 nights into the equation. If you think it is highly over-rated, you are toking way too much.

In my opinion, it is the most beatable of the professional sports. Football, 1 play, 1 pick return, or TD in OT can bust you. Each play has way more importance than the NBA. The worst you get in an NBA bad play is a 4 or 5 point swing, which can easily be overcome. That TD return may never be made up. And in bases, try and guess how the home ump is calling balls and strikes tonight? So many players, so many matchups. Might have 7 guys in NBA that play significant minutes. You can match them up, and handicap from there. Another thing in NBA, you can ride the streaks longer, especially totals where adjusts can be slow. But be prepared to make it a full time vocation. Look at that GTech game tonight, sailing along winning and covering and boom, 80 yard bomb and 50 yard bomb within 2 minutes. That cannot happen in the NBA. Much less volatility. Look at the teasers, that will clue you in where the numbers land. And totals, really land. :coffeetim I put football on the backburner when NBA and even more NCAA hoops start.

To answer your question, yes. I keep very detailed records and am well ahead on NBA lifetime. Can I prove it? No. People can believe what they wish. As for angles...no such thing (for me at least). Takes a lot of hard work and discipline. It's a long grind and one needs to put in a lot of hours in order to keep up on teams on a NIGHTLY BASIS. I highly recommend local newspapers for info that doesn't make national coverage. Also, one should have a lot of outs. The extra half points and/or low vig make a big difference over the course of the season. I find that the best time to beat the NBA is from November until roughly the All-Star break in February. I don't bet much in March and April but then return for the playoffs. That's just what works best for me -- everyone is different.

I do really well on the NBA for the past 5 years. But then again, i only bet on underdogs with lines of +7 or more. I LOVE the spreads of +10 or more. The dog covers at a rate of around 65% I believe.

Of course I dont EVERY big spread dog, but most of them over 7 points are GOLDEN!!

PO69----I'd have to say no unless you are scalping and\or middling.

I feel the same way about the NFL. College foots and a few NHL games is where it's at.

I was reviewing last years o/u and was struck by the number of 5-7 games streaks on either side of the equation. I have devised a system and am planning on using it on the western teams when they play among themselves.
Last year i back tested all teams and bet over if previousgame was over and then reversed if it went under etc. almostl teams showed positive numbers. will keep posted after Nov.

The new breed NBA player who loafs most of the time make NBA baseketball a crapshoot to bet

Football (NFL) impossible to beat long term- Why?? You can bet 50 Dimes a game at books and they say bring it on

Bases?? Books want no part of it because it is the most beatable sport

Soccer, Tennis and Gold too fall into the category of beatable

Most gamblers are broke because they bet football and baskets

Weekend, I have heard that before, and every time I monitor it for a length of time (fatigue factor in NBA) it has no positive bearing or advantage at all. We are talking about the most elite and tip top shape athletes in the world. With that in mind, why would one think that using fatigue as judgement when capping basketball with the greatest athletes on the planet has any more to do than MLB players who also have tiresome schedules. If I am "toking" too much as you call it, Could it be that you are drinking too much ALKI? :nono5:

Fish the problem is that without proper money management 54-58% will drive most people's balances to zero.

NBA is frustrating because 80% of the games come down to a foul shooting, 3 point jacking contest at the end where the outcome is no more predictable than the roll of a roulette wheel.
I agree, and this is why I have done fairly well on totals and moneylines.

I agree for the most part with most of what's been said here, but there is a guy here at the RX that I believe is as solid as it get's, his name is OccamsRazor.. He has won me money on a very consistant basiss and should get recognition for it. Anyone who has visited the NBA forum here know's all to well of his skills.
