I have done it before a few times. Had a problem yesterday when my bets doubled up, I must have hit the comfirm button twice.

I consider that a book's software problem. Don't play Heritage but I've never seen it.

YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!!!!

Even after posting this thread, I STILL made a mistake today! Small bet, but still. I took the over on the NE game instead of the under.

One time I added an extra 0 to my bet. Boy, did I ever sweat that 100 bet. :sad3:

On a similar note, I was betting NFL, NHL and NBA all in one day. I hurried to get in the early NHL bet but forgot to bet the rest of my picks because I booked so many bets in the other leagues. Of course I won most of the games I would have bet on.

I'm betting fewer games now.

The one time I tried to reverse a bet - even though it was immediately after making it and game time was hours away - the online book said no.

Whenever I catch my error(s), I "correct" it by simply beeting double that wager on the "right side".

When I don't catch my errors in time - sad to say - more enough than not, they win!

What's a good amount to keep in each book when arbitraging? How many books should a good arbitrager have? I'll probably be moving into this arena in the near future.

Thanks in advance.

Well, the more the merrier for both. Though, you don't want to spread your bankroll too thin. Pinnacle is a must.

To be polite (shock), I held off on making a smartass post in this thread like, "If you make sure to place your bets while sober, you'll never mess up..."

AND THEN I opened my Olympic account and found a discrepancy in yesterday's closing balance.

DOH! I placed an OVER when I intended UNDER and thus I lost a 1/2 unit where I should have won.

Let this be a lesson to ME! :sad3:

Just today I bet Minnesota when I meant to take Green Bay. I knew it was my own fault and would have taken my lumps or doubled up on Green Bay but I took a shot and spoke with a rep via live chat. They had to get manager approval but they did flip my original bet over to Green Bay. I was even able to get the original 5 1/2 I had even though the line moved to 6 during our conversation. Very nice gesture on an honest mistake.

i should mention that this book says confirm and when you hit that button you go to another page where you have to enter password and confirm again.

I screwed up big time today.

I just checked my account with Nine.com and my account total was the same as this morning. Found out when I made my "Big" bet on Washington and a smaller bet on Under never went through. I put in the wrong password. I hate their software!

Please SD win.

I pounded Utah State against New Mexico State when I thought I found a gem. I have almost 10 books so it isn't unusual to find lines a couple of points different.

I bet Utah State at -1. Later, I found New Mex State at +3 at Hollywood so I pounded a bit more on Utah State and put about half on NMS.

Needless to say it was tied at the half. I just happened to look at scored plays and noticed that I had lost my entire bet of Utah State. It was for the first half.

At this point I didn't know what to do as I had already lost 4 units on Utah State and had about 3 units pending on NMState at +3.

I had a decent lean to Utah State for the game so I was able to bet 2 units on Utah State for the 2nd half at -2. I luckily was able to push the 3 units on NMS and win 2 units on UState for the 2nd half and only lost 2 units plus some juice.

All along I was planning on middling this game and the sad thing is it would have worked out because I had several books where I could have bet Utah State at -2 1/2 -105 and could have had NMState at +3 -107. I would have won my entire UTah State bet and pushed with the Aggies.

:sad3:

I haven't messed up a bet like that in ages, but came close betting a proposition a few months ago where whichever book it was had under listed on top and over listed on the bottom. Fortunately I avoided disaster by exceeding the bet limit and having it rejected for being over the limit.
