Last wedding I went to, well was supposed to go to, I traveled 4 hours to get there, the night before, went out and partied all night, and then about 6 of us got all dressed up ready to go in the morning and went to a bar about a block from the church about an hour before the wedding and we all ended up staying in the bar watching football until the wedding was over with...lol. We then were the last people to show for the reception, needless to say some people werent to happy about it...lol....OH WELL....weddings suck.

A few minutes later, another guy comes in the room and is, "All right....thank God!"

By the time the final few minutes was playing out, there were like 15 guys all crammed into this bedroom watching the game and the sound was all the way up.

Too funny. Been there, done that.

Just got back from the rehearsal dinner. What a waste of time. I sat there for 2 hours hitting refresh on my phone looking at the college football scores. As the wife says...."You just have to play the part"...hahaha

The Vtech game was pretty brutal to watch. 16-3 final. But probably better than the rehearsal dinner!!

Two souls jointing in harmonious matrimony is awesome. The rituals they have to go through to prove to the world their commitment is ludicrous.
The wedding industry is only second to college book industry in scam/extortion. Women are literally brainwashed from day one to put all their chips on this one day. It is a tradition that should be put into the history books.

But until men grow a set and lay down the law, sadly, it will continue.

Personally, I like going to most weddings. The atmosphere, the look in the brides eyes, rereuniting with friends, etc.

Absolutely. DUMB! Hate em!

Especially when you have a good feel they'll be divorced in 16months. Waste of time.

Freebie? Either you have never gone to a wedding or you don't give the bride and groom a card. On top of that it is clear that you have never been in a wedding if you think these things are free. On top of the cash that we are giving them tonight for their gift... She has had to buy a dress that she will only wear once (bridesmaid dress) fork out money for the bachelorette party, all the girls who are in the wedding meet early today and get their hair and nails done, and also put out a nice chunk of change for the bridal shower. This is her 5th wedding of the year that she has been in. So we had to do this five times. The other two neither of us are in so we just have to give a card with cash at the reception.

But if you are just invited to the wedding and you are not actually in the wedding you still have to give them a card with cash in it. These things are far from free.

Haha Boxer I meant freebie by taking a girl home which is why I made the significant other comment. But yeah obviously lots of money will be spent.

hahahaha the look in the brides eyes??

:smoking:

Q. How come the bride is always smiling when cutting the wedding cake?

A. Because she knows she'll never have to give another hummer again.

About 10 years ago a buddy of mine got married. ( Big Sports Bettor )
He fought with his Wife to be about the day they would get married.

He of course, wanted a During the week wedding...she would have Nothing to do with that ! Saturday ONLY !!

Sooooo, my friend said...If the Wedding is going to be on a Saturday
There will be TV's at the wedding !
Big Fight !! But he did get his way.

He spoke to the people at the place the Reception was being held, and Paid $1000 to have a small room set up with 2 TV's, a Bar and the guys that smoked...could smoke there.

We had about 30-50 guys in there, so we missed a little of the wedding party....but we did get to watch the Games ( Including the Groom )

My rule of thumb used to be if i knew your phone number by heart then I'd go to the wedding.

These days its impossible to know anyone's number by heart. You put it in your cell phone once and that's the only time you see the actual number.

Weddings are great to go to if you are single and have friends that are going to the wedding. Drinking + going out after is a great time, usually leads to bringing someone home late night
