Middling at the same book , do they have a right to complain about it? Say you have a great day and want to pull back some on a late game and you notice the line has went in your favor for a nice middle...Do you have every right to go for the scalp? I did this at a book one time and was told not to come back...And all I was really trying to do was get out of a play I made earlier...I didn`t even win the scalp...
I have done this 100"s of times.You do have every right to go for the scalp.I figure the books wouldn't mind this since they are looking for action on the other side anyway.One time a book told me that both bets will not go towards the rollover[just started with that book].I told them i didn't care and that was it.
That guy at Gameday is super paranoid. I remember he accused me of playing steam when he took back the bonus he gave me a week earlier and booted me. I told him I have never even heard of that term and I wasn't lying. He didn't believe me. If he can't manage to keep his lines sharp then he can't be too bright anyway.

When they get mad at you, what they are basically saying is.. hey, we f ucked up, and we were beat to the number and now we are screwed and looking to bail out of game by having people buyback the other side, but you outsmarted us twice and we are now pissed at you..

Your doing them a favor. You had a much bigger advantage if you would have stuck with the original bet.
Setting up the middle obviously gives you a low risk chance of making some money but value wise you would be better off just keeping the original bet.

Gameday is one of those books that fully expects you to lose and be happy about it. They pull back bonuses with just the scent of sharpness in the air. It's too bad too, with their decent dime line and a generous re-up bonus, scalping out of Gameday would be good for them as well as me, but alas, another "bookie" that can't see the big picture.
Any book that gets mad at you have NO clue how to book and I would get the hell out fast. Here is why...
If a line opens up at -150/+140 and you play the fav at -150.. Then by evening the steam comes in heavily on the fav and the line closes at -175/+165.. Now if you bet the dog at +165 and get yourself a 15 cent scalp (-150/+165) then all you just did what was lower your rate of return on the bet because you just gave the book a bet on the real line of +165, rather than keep a single bet at -150 instead of -175 and have a 25 cent advantage. The book is way better off seeing you have a 15 cent scalp and hope the fav wins, and win you nothing, than have you have a game at 25 cents better than the real line. By scalping with the book, you just screwed up your big return on the dollar, and books actually get pissed at this. Plus, what is difference if you bet it at +165 after, or someone else bets it? That is their line and they are looking for action on that game anyway or else they wouldn't be carrying that line.
I really think it all boils down to you outsmarting them and making them look silly at their game that you are a step ahead of them. It all boils down to pride, because I too used to get mad when a player would do this to me and I didn't like it all because I felt this player was mocking me, and he thought he was smarter than me.. But I was NEVER upset when he did it business wise. It's a bad move to scalp it for the bettor as the better move would be to just keep the strong side and let it ride.
