Thoughts?

I say yes. The Big Ten (BS 11) is garbage. Penn States out of conference schedule looks just as bad.

In the SEC it will come down to Florida vs. Alabama in the SEC championship game and whoever wins that will face Penn St. if they go undefeated. If Penn St. goes undefeated they will play for the title.

I don't think so. Take note in how Texas Leapfrogged them in the polls when they beat OU and how Tech Jumped them when they beat Texas.

If the Team representing the Big 12 south in the Big 12 Championship game wins that game they will play the winner of the SEC championship game for the BCS title. Penn State will be idle that week and a quality win against Missouri or Kansas in the Big 12 CCG would give them the boost they need to pass Penn State in the BCS Rankings.

We will see, but I don't think they will hold out an undefeated team. Can't fault Penn St. they played everybody on their schedule.

We wouldn't be talking about this BCS crap though if they had a playoff.

When the Big 10/11 plays a conferance chapionship game the odds of there getting to the BCS championship game will improve (so will the competiveness of the conference).

Of course, you would need an Eastern and Western Division or thereabout); tought stuff to enact in the "old Western Conference" now known as the Big 10

Ohio State getting blown out the last 2 BCS title games hurts Penn State as well b/c they come from the same weak conference.

get a conference championship and then you should be allowed to play for a national title-
until you do- you are no better then the pac10
stop crying and send in your complaints.

Man this BCS stuff gets more confusing and absolutely crappy every year. You have three high ranked teams (Penn St, Alabama, USC) That have played absolute junk schedules this year and they are right in the hunt for BCS bowl bids and NC game.

It really is a great idea for teams like this though to put together a team and hype them up in the media and then make a schedule to play against basically high school football teams (washington, washington state, wyoming) and then hang 60 plus points on them and proclaim yourselfs real contenders. Oh yeah, and then tell everyone that you play real good defense that is why the scores are so one sided.. the scores are so one sided because you play special olympics teams! The national championship and all bowl games should be played by the better teams. But since the BCS is so messed up you get bull like what is going on now.

I guarantee you one thing, and I know I will get alot of ill comments, but if Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, or Texas Tech played Alabama, Penn State, or USC today.. The first four teams in the list would win 9 out of 10 times. And not just win... destroy them.

Everyone talks about the defense being poor in the Big 12 but I think it has more to do with the offense being powerful. That is why the defense is so good in those so called "tough" conferences.. because the offense stinks.

Where was the defense the last time USC played Texas? What was the score in that game? Over 80 combined?

And the Big 10.. what a joke.

Sorry, was venting a little there. I am sure I will catch some flack but that is ok. Everyone has their opinion right or wrong.

BOL to everyone this weekend!

A twelve team conference would "round" things out. Notre Dame would be a natural (this had been tossed around for years.

Think of a Western Division made up of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa , Illinois, Northwestern and [throw in Notre Dame because of their historical "pipe line" to the Chicago area.
A lot of old rivalries with this alignment.

The Eastern Division would then consist of Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, Indiana, Ohio State and Penn State (a lot of old rivalries with this alignment).

Could play the championship game in a doom (Indianapolis comes to mind and it is "sort of" nuetral) like Atlanta.

Of course, this will [not] happen because it is too logical.

Until the Big 10 gets another team they can't play a conference championship game. I wish Notre Dame would join the league to make it work but we all know there isn't a chance in hell that happens.

Bottom line is the confernce championship games have only helped the Big12 and SEC so there's really nothing to complain about in regards to the Big 10 not playing one. LSU got in as a two loss because of it and the year before Florida got in because of it. I think one year either Nebraska or OU lost in their CCG and still played for the national championship (could of been before the BSC but I'm not sure)

The BCS rewards a good schedule so if you play a tough schedule and go the distance your in no matter what. Penn St has to hope for other teams to loose and could still poss. get passed up because they play in the Big 10 and didn't play a heavy weight even though Oregon St. isn't a pushover. PSU isn't the only team to play cupcakes out of conference. Either way I hope the winner of the SEC and Big 12 meet in the title game, maybe USC if they finish strong.

If Alabama loses and Penn St goes undefeated it will be almost impossible for Penn St to not go to the BCS. THey will be ranked #1 in the polls so it would be very difficult for the # 3 team to pass them.

Even with Penn State's Weak Ass Schedule, and Both CCG winners having quality wins to add to their resume for the polls?

%^_here was at least one time in the distant past where Joe pa's penn st went undefeated and did not get voted #1; I think the year Texas beat Ark back in old southwest conf days and Pres Nixon declared Longhorns the champs.

michigan state is currently ranked #18

if they win the two games prior to penn state, they could be ranked as high as #12, but probably around #15

if PSU rolls them, they will get in

mich state is as important to penn state right now as PSU handling their biz
