I enjoyed seeing him play. He damn near threw a runner out at first on a clean single.

Has any rookie hitter ever started better than this ? I almost never get to watch NL teams in CT, all NYY or Bosox, won't watch METS. I can't recall anybody ( rookie position player ) looking this good before.

I think when Kevin Maas came up for the Yanks about 15 years ago - he was blistering hot for a couple of weeks. too lazy to pull up his stats.

Colin Cowherd was saying something this morning, can't remember the stat. Something about how this is the best first 15 games at the plate by any player in the modern era. Can't remember the exact criteria he used but it was most HR and most hits or something...

5 tool player my brother.

The play I'm talking about was a hit to short RF, Puig kinda got it on a short hop. I think the batter was Nix ( a back-up SS) and not a slow guy...Nix kinda jogs in for his automatic single and had to kick it into high gear to beat Puig's throw ...and just beat it !

I think he could throw out a slow runner like a David ortiz on that same play. That would be embarrasing to hit into the outfield hit the grass and have the RF throw you out at 1st base !

He runs singles into doubles ( or outs).

I like this guy ! He's maybe a bit to aggressive on the bases, but I'd love to have him on my team.

....I know it's really early to say this....he may be one of all-time greats ! That said....pitchers will learn to adjust to him.

Why didn't he tear it up in minors even more then ?

like batting .600 in AAA with ridiculous HR's and RBI's ?

He has to decline from this incredible start and maybe become a .320 BA guy with Cabrera like numbers and be a much better baserunner.

Well, The Dodgers tossed a lot of money at him....this one seems to be a winner !

You mean he is not going to hit .600 forever and dodger fans are going to have to settle for him being as good as Cabrera? Man the future is bleak for this guy

He's still very raw, his talent is overwhelming but he's still a very raw player. Rough around the edges.
A player like him with half the talent would need a lot more time in the minors. His talent is overshadowing his rawness.

You're being capt obvious doug.. Of course he's not going to .600, Cabrera is the best hitter in the game, the guy won a TC last season. I think the Dodgers would be thrilled if Puig ended up as good of hitter as Cabrera.. Of course he will decline, of course he will settle down. Very obvious
statements you are making doug.

The thing I like about Puig is he is good at everything. He can hit, run, play D, steal bases, throw, has speed and power. We are looking at the beginning of a wonderful career.

I don't think he is all that raw.

he's ultra aggressive, just gotta teach him to play a bit more fundamentally....

don't try to throw out the batter at first on a single to RF, just toss it into 2b

Don't try to make every ordinary single into a double , esp. against good outfielders like Brett Gardner....maybe do that with 2 outs but not with no one out.

He should work things out by the end of the season.

I can't think of a guy I'd want on my team ahead of him considering age, potential, salary, skills, etc.

It's really early, but he looks better than anyone I've ever seen.

he's listed at 6'3" and 245 lbs. kind of a big guy, but with his speed he could probably play CF and of course LF. Seems like he should be a perfect 1st baseman and why not 3rd as well ?

so at minimum the guy should be a corner outfielder that can play first base as well.. Off the chart potential with this man !
